  • Heat's Josh Richardson: Undergoes successful surgery

The Heat announced that Richardson underwent successful surgery Wednesday to address right shoulder instability.

While Richardson will remain out for the rest of the season, he's expected to make a full recovery ahead of training camp. Richardson could return to Miami in 2024-25 if he elects to pick up his $3.05 million player option this offseason.

  • Heat's Josh Richardson: Out for remainder of season

Richardson is set to undergo season-ending surgery on his dislocated right shoulder Wednesday, Tim Reynolds of Associated Press reports.

Richardson has missed Miami's last eight contests due to the injury, and with the 30-year-old making little improvement in his recovery, he'll have to go under the knife. Delon Wright and Duncan Robinson could both receive increased playing time down the stretch as a result of Richardson's absence. Richardson will end the season with averages of 9.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.5 three-pointers in 25.7 minutes per game across 43 appearances, including six starts.

  • Heat's Josh Richardson: Out with dislocated shoulder

The Heat announced Monday that Richardson has been diagnosed with a dislocated right shoulder following an MRI and will be re-evaluated in two weeks, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Richardson sustained the injury in the second quarter of Sunday's loss to Boston and was sent in for an MRI, which confirmed that he dislocated his right shoulder. He'll be sidelined for the Heat's final two games before the All-Star break and will likely miss time to begin the second half, with a clearer date for his return to come once he's re-evaluated. Duncan Robinson, Caleb Martin and Jaime Jaquez could all have higher minutes floors in Richardson's absence, while Haywood Highsmith should gain some security in the Miami rotation.

  • Heat's Josh Richardson: Diagnosed with dislocated shoulder

The Heat announced Monday that Richardson has been diagnosed with a dislocated right shoulder and will be re-evaluated in a few weeks, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Richardson sustained a right shoulder injury in the second quarter of Sunday's game against Boston and underwent an MRI on Monday. The issue will cost him multiple weeks, so he likely won't be back on the court until at least late February or early March. • Heat's Josh Richardson: MRI on tap

Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra said after Sunday's 110-106 loss to the Celtics that Richardson (shoulder) will undergo an MRI on Monday, ESPN.com reports.

Along with Richardson, Terry Rozier (knee) is scheduled to get an MRI on Monday after both players exited Sunday's contest with injuries. Richardson was the first of the two to depart, checking out of the game with nine minutes remaining in the second quarter when he said he felt his right shoulder pop out and pop back when he unsuccessfully tried to strip the Celtics' Jayson Tatum of the ball. Based on Richardson's own description of the injury, he seems to be dealing with a dislocated shoulder, but the MRI should bring further clarity on the nature and extent of his health concern. The Heat haven't officially ruled Richardson or Rozier out for the front end of a back-to-back set Tuesday in Milwaukee, though both would appear unlikely to be available at this stage.

  • Heat's Josh Richardson: Suffers shoulder injury

Richardson won't return to Sunday's game against Boston after suffering a right shoulder injury in the second quarter. He finished with two points (1-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt) and two assists in seven minutes.

Richardson was caught in a collision and immediately went to the ground grabbing his right shoulder. He was then promptly escorted by Miami's training personnel to the locker room, with Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel speculating that Richardson suffered a shoulder dislocation. Richardson will likely be sent in for further testing before the Heat provide a firmer diagnosis of his injury ahead of Tuesday's game in Milwaukee.

  • Heat's Josh Richardson: Late addition to starting lineup

Richardson is starting Sunday's game against the Clippers.

Richardson wasn't included on Miami's initial list of starters for Sunday's matchup, but he'll draw the start due to Tyler Herro being questionable with a headache. Richardson's overall role will likely depend on whether Herro can take the court against the Clippers.

  • Heat's Josh Richardson: Pops for 14 in Sunday's start

Richardson totaled 14 points (6-13 FG, 2-8 3Pt), three rebounds and four assists across 33 minutes during Sunday's 103-95 loss to the Clippers.

Making his sixth start of the season due to Tyler Herro (head) being a late scratch, Richardson saw his biggest workload since Dec. 20 and scored double-digit points for the third time in the last four games. The veteran guard is averaging 14.3 points, 4.0 boards, 2.8 assists and 2.8 threes during that stretch, and with Duncan Robinson (concussion) also currently sidelined, Richardson's short-term usage and fantasy value are on the upswing.

  • Heat's Josh Richardson: Season-best scoring effort

Richardson notched 24 points (9-15 FG, 6-10 3Pt), five rebounds, three assists and one block in 27 minutes off the bench during Wednesday's 115-106 win over the Kings.

The 24 points were a season high for Richardson, who hadn't even topped 12 since Dec. 18. The 30-year-old guard's lack of consistency makes him difficult to roster for fantasy purposes, and through 14 games in January he averaged just 9.9 points, 2.9 boards, 1.8 assists and 1.7 threes in 22.7 minutes a contest.

  • Heat's Josh Richardson: Probable for Wednesday

Richardson is probable for Wednesday's game versus the Thunder due to neck spasms.

Richardson is a late addition to Miami's lengthy injury report, but it appears that he'll give it a go anyway. That's great news for Miami, as they are expected to be without Kyle Lowry (hand) and Caleb Martin (ankle). Jimmy Butler (toe) has already been ruled out.
