ESPN reports that the Nets and Cavaliers are engaged in talks to trade Jarrett Jack from Cleveland to Brooklyn in exchange for Marcus Thornton.

The move would have to be financial from Cleveland's perspective. They signed Jack to a four-year, $25.2 million deal last summer and he never really stood out like he did in Golden State. He has another two years guaranteed at $6.3 million and a third year guaranteed for only $500,000 per ShamSports.com.

Thornton on the other hand is an expiring cotract next year at $8.575 million. It gives the Cavs some flexibility for 2015 and a bench scoring weapon. The question is whether this has further long-term ramifications.

For the Cavaliers, would this signal a potential move of Dio Waiters by adding more wing scoring depth, especially with Andrew Wiggins potentially the No. 1 pick by the Cavs Thursday? And for the Nets, does this signal a willingness or at least resignation when it comes to the possibility of re-signing Shaun Livingston in free agency?

Either way, it's pretty early in the news cycle for a deal to have already reached "have talked to the point of it being leaked" level.
