Royals' Seth Lugo: Brilliant again in win
Lugo (3-0) earned the win Monday, allowing no runs, four hits and one walk over seven innings against the White Sox. He struck out four.
Lugo looked to be in complete control against a weak White Sox lineup as he scattered four singles and issued only one walk Monday night. The 34-year-old right-hander has been splendid to start the year, posting a 1.05 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 13:6 K:BB over his first 25.2 innings. Lugo is currently scheduled to make his next start against Baltimore at home.

Royals' Seth Lugo: Continues strong start to season
Lugo (2-0) earned the win over Houston on Wednesday, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out two batters over six innings.
Lugo induced just five swinging strikes and allowed at least one baserunner in five of his six frames, but aside from a two-run fourth inning, the Astros were unable to score on him. The veteran right-hander has completed at least six frames and has notched a quality start in each of his three outings so far this season, leading to his sterling 1.45 ERA. Lugo's unimpressive 9:5 K:BB over 18.2 innings provides reason to doubt this level of success moving forward, but he showed last year that he can be an effective (if unsensational) rotation piece without big punchout numbers when he posted a 3.57 ERA and 8.6 K/9 across 26 starts for the Padres.

Royals' Seth Lugo: Picks up first win
Lugo (1-0) earned the win Thursday, holding the White Sox to one run on eight hits and two walks over 6.2 innings. He struck out three.
Lugo had to deal with traffic all night but managed to hold Chicago to just one run, coaxing four double-play balls en route to his first victory with Kansas City. The 34-year-old Lugo has gotten off to a good start this year, allowing just one run through his first two starts (12.2 innings) after going 8-7 with a 3.57 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 140:36 K:BB across 26 starts last year with San Diego. Lugo's currently lined up for a home matchup with the Astros in his next outing.

Royals' Seth Lugo: Six scoreless in KC debut
Lugo didn't factor in the decision during Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Twins. He allowed two hits and a walk across six scoreless innings and struck out four.
The 34-year-old induced 12 swinging strikes on 86 pitches and didn't allow a baserunner to reach third base, but the bullpen was unable to maintain a 1-0 advantage. Lugo joined the Royals on a two-year, $30 million contract during the offseason after he posted a 3.57 ERA in 26 starts for the Padres last year, and he pitched well in his first start against the reigning AL Central champs.

Royals' Seth Lugo: Successful in spring debut
Lugo pitched two scoreless innings, allowing a hit, a walk and a hit batsman while striking out one in his Cactus League debut Monday versus the Cubs.
Lugo admitted to some nerves before the game, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. Lugo is embarking on his first season with the Royals after spending his first seven major-league campaigns with the Mets before pitching with the Padres last year. The right-hander projects to be one of the Royals' top starters after pitching to a 3.57 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 140:36 K:BB over 146.1 innings last year, his first as a full-time starter since 2017.
