Padres' Nick Pivetta: Earns third win
Pivetta (3-1) earned the win Wednesday over the Cubs, allowing one run on four hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out six.
It was another strong outing from Pivetta, with the lone blemish coming on a Kyle Tucker sacrifice fly in the third inning. The 32-year-old Pivetta's ERA is down to 1.57 on the year with a 0.83 WHIP and 24:5 K:BB through his first 23 innings with the Padres. He'll look to keep rolling in his next outing, currently lined up for next week in Detroit.

Padres' Nick Pivetta: Cruises to second win
Pivetta (2-1) earned the win Friday against the Rockies after allowing three hits and one walk in seven scoreless innings. He struck out 10.
Two of the three hits were doubles off the bat of Kyle Farmer, but Pivetta was still able to cruise Friday while not allowing a runner to even reach third base. The right-hander now boasts a 1.59 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 18:4 K:BB over 17 frames, although he's been particularly dominant at home with an active 14-inning scoreless streak at Petco Park. Pivetta draws a difficult test to his home success against the Cubs in his next projected start.

Padres' Nick Pivetta: Weak effort at Wrigley
Pivetta (1-1) took the loss Saturday, giving up three runs on six hits and three walks over three innings as the Padres were bounced 7-1 by the Cubs. He struck out four.
After a dazzling 2025 debut Sunday against Atlanta, Pivetta crashed back to earth in this one, tossing 44 of 76 pitches for strikes before getting the hook. The right-hander has never been known for his consistency and has never finished a season with an ERA below 4.00, so a quick correction shouldn't have been surprising. Pivetta will take a 2.70 ERA and 8:3 K:BB through 10 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next weekend against the Rockies.

Padres' Nick Pivetta: Stellar Padres debut
Pivetta (1-0) earned the win Sunday over Atlanta, allowing just one hit over seven scoreless innings. He struck out four.
The Padres couldn't have asked for more out of Pivetta in his first start in San Diego, as the right-hander held a powerful Atlanta offense to a lone third-inning single en route to a shutout victory. The 32-year-old Pivetta signed with San Diego late in the offseason after posting a 4.14 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 172:36 K:BB across 145.2 innings with the Red Sox last year. Pivetta will look to keep rolling in his second start, currently scheduled for next week on the road against the Cubs.

Padres' Nick Pivetta: Impressive in spring debut
Pivetta tossed 2.2 scoreless innings in a Cactus League contest against San Francisco on Tuesday, issuing one walk and striking out four batters.
Pivetta took the mound in a Padres uniform for the first time after signing with the team in mid-February. The veteran righty looked great in his 2.2 frames, holding the Giants without a hit and punching out four batters while throwing 47 pitches and topping out at 94.6 mph on the radar gun.
