Taylor is starting in right field and batting ninth Tuesday in Game 1 of the NL Wild Card Series against the Diamondbacks. Garrett Mitchell is not on the Brewers' active roster for this best-of-three series versus Arizona, so Sal Frelick will cover center field as Taylor patrols right. Taylor missed some time down the stretch with a hamstring injury, but he ultimately registered a strong .912 OPS across his final 82 plate appearances dating back to the beginning of September.... Brewers' Tyrone Taylor: Returns to lineup
Taylor (hamstring) is starting in right field and batting ninth Sunday versus Miami. Taylor missed three consecutive starts after tweaking his hamstring, but he was able to make a pinch-hit appearance during Saturday's loss to the Marlins. Now fully recovered, Taylor will look to stay hot, as he's slashing .305/.339/.610 with four homers and 12 RBI since the start of September.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Tyrone Taylor: Remains out Saturday
Taylor (hamstring) isn't starting Saturday against the Marlins. Hamstring problems have kept Taylor out of the Brewers' lineup for each of their last two games, and the team will continue to play it safe as it looks to clinch a division title Saturday. Sal Frelick will shift to right field in Taylor's absence while Blake Perkins starts in center field and bats ninth.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Tyrone Taylor: Homers twice Wednesday
Taylor went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs in Wednesday's 8-2 win over the Cardinals. Taylor's had a down year in the power department -- he's up to nine homers and a .438 slugging percentage across 75 contests. He's hit four of his homers and added six of his 14 doubles this season in 17 September games. The outfielder is batting .233 with 30 RBI, 34 runs scored and nine stolen bases over 222 plate appearances. He continues to split time between right field and left field.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Tyrone Taylor: Belts seventh homer
Taylor went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored against the Nationals in Saturday's 9-5 victory. Taylor belted a solo shot to left field in the fourth inning to give the Brewers a 4-1 lead. The long ball extended his modest hitting streak to seven games, during which he's batting .429 (12-for-28) with three doubles, two homers, seven runs, seven RBI and a stolen base. Taylor's recent surge comes after an 11-game slump from the end of August to early September during which he went 3-for-30 with nine strikeouts.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Tyrone Taylor: Sitting Friday
Taylor isn't in the Brewers' lineup Friday against the Nationals. Taylor will get a breather Friday as the Brewers welcome outfielders Christian Yelich (back) and Mark Canha (wrist) back into their lineup. Taylor has slashed .325/.341/.500 since the start of September, so he figures to remain a consistent piece of a relatively weak Brewers lineup down the stretch.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Tyrone Taylor: Homers, swipes bag
Taylor went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and a steal in Saturday's win over the Yankees. Taylor's leadoff homer in the top of the eighth gave the Brewers a 3-2 lead and kicked off a three-run inning for the team. He would then come around to score a second time in the ninth, this time on a William Contreras single after the outfielder singled and stole second. The home run was Taylor's first since Aug. 23, and he's now hit safely in four of his last five games. For the month he's batting .250 with three RBI and five runs scored.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Tyrone Taylor: Sitting amid struggles
Taylor is out of the lineup Friday against the Yankees. Christian Yelich, Sal Frelick and Mark Canha will start across the outfield for the visiting Brewers. Taylor went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in Wednesday's series finale at Pittsburgh and is batting just .202/.242/.357 across 178 total plate appearances this year.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Tyrone Taylor: On bench again Friday
Taylor is not in the starting lineup Friday versus the Phillies. Taylor will remain on the bench for a second straight contest as the Brewers launch their three-game home series with Philadelphia. Mark Canha will handle right field and bat seventh in the series opener.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Tyrone Taylor: Sitting out Wednesday
Taylor is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs. Taylor will cede his spot in the lineup to Rowdy Tellez, who is starting for the second time in the series while Mark Canha spells Taylor in right field. While starting in each of the past 11 games, Taylor has produced a .914 OPS, despite going hitless in 14 at-bats over the last five of those contests.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Tyrone Taylor: Playing time trending up
Taylor will start in center field and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Rangers. Taylor will stick in the lineup for a fourth consecutive game and for the seventh time in eight contests while he's produced a robust .923 OPS with two home runs and one walk against four strikeouts through 13 games in August. In light of his hot hitting, Taylor seems to have moved ahead of Mark Canha and Joey Wiemer for the third spot in Milwaukee's everyday outfield alongside Christian Yelich and Sal Frelick (hamstring).... Brewers' Tyrone Taylor: Goes deep in win
Taylor went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and an additional run scored in Monday's 12-1 win over the Rockies. Taylor has hit safely in five of his last six games, going 6-for-16 (.375) with three homers and six RBI in that span. He got the start in right field Monday with Sal Frelick covering for Joey Wiemer in center. Taylor remains limited to a part-time role, and he may be hard pressed to get out of it even with his recent success -- he's slashing just .188/.202/.337 over 104 plate appearances on the year.... Brewers' Tyrone Taylor: Homers in win
Taylor went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer in Wednesday's 3-0 victory over Cincinnati. Taylor snapped a scoreless tie in the seventh inning Wednesday with a two-run homer off Ben Lively, powering the Brewers to a 3-0 win. The home run was just Taylor's second hit since returning from the IL on July 14 -- he's now just 2-for-13 (.154) in that span. Overall, the 29-year-old outfielder is slashing .159/.176/.261 with two homers, seven runs scored, six RBI and six steals across 91 plate appearances in a reserve role with the Brewers this season.... Brewers' Tyrone Taylor: Returns from IL
The Brewers reinstated Taylor (elbow) from the 10-day injured list Friday. Taylor has been on the shelf with a sprained right elbow since the beginning of June, and he'll now return to the active roster to begin the Brewers' second half of the season. Taylor is slashing just .160/.179/.240 across 78 plate appearances this season and will have to battle for playing time in the Brewers' crowded outfield.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Tyrone Taylor: May regain regular role
Taylor will start in right field and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Giants. Taylor is included in the starting nine for the third consecutive game, and he looks like he'll be the primary beneficiary from a playing-time standpoint of Willy Adames going on the 7-day injured list Saturday. With Adames out of the mix, Brice Turang has taken over as the Brewers' everyday shortstop, while Brian Anderson has moved back to the infield to open up a spot in the corner outfield for Taylor.... Brewers' Tyrone Taylor: Remains out of lineup
Taylor is not in the starting lineup Wednesday against the Astros. Taylor will remain on the bench for the second straight game and the third time over the last four contests. Brewers' Tyrone Taylor: Not in Saturday's lineup
Taylor is not in Saturday's lineup against the Giants. Taylor heads to the bench after going 2-for-13 with one home run and one steal in four games since coming off the injured list. Brian Anderson will start in right field while Owen Miller mans the hot corner.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Tyrone Taylor: Activated from injured list
Taylor (elbow) was activated Tuesday from the 10-day injured list, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. He is starting in right field and batting eighth in his season debut Tuesday against the Rockies. Taylor missed the opening month of the 2023 campaign while recovering from a right elbow sprain, but he's ready to rock now following a five-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville during which he posted an .828 OPS across 23 plate appearances. The 29-year-old should be something close to a regular presence in the Brewers' outfield moving forward and can offer useful power and speed production in deeper fantasy formats.... See More ... Brewers' Tyrone Taylor: Should return this week
Taylor (elbow) could be activated from the 10-day injured list during the Brewers' upcoming road trip, which runs Tuesday through next Sunday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. The 29-year-old has played in three games on his rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville, and he may not need much more action in the minors before joining the big club. Taylor has been on the shelf for the first month of the season with a sprained elbow, but he should see regular playing time in right field once activated, especially with Garrett Mitchell (shoulder) facing an extended absence.... Brewers' Tyrone Taylor: Officially placed on IL
Taylor (elbow) was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. The move is retroactive to Monday, but Taylor isn't expected to be ready to join the Brewers until May as he recovers from a right elbow sprain.
