Much ado has been made about the Cubs sweeping the regular-season series over the Mets, seven games to none. As backlash, fans of the Mets can correctly point out that the Mets' offense is drastically different than it was then. In response, Cubs fans might reply, "Hey, same here."

Yes, both offenses are very different these days. For example, check out the slop these teams were running out there last time they played each other, back on July 2.

Cubs

1. Starlin Castro, SS
2. Anthony Rizzo, 1B
3. Miguel Montero, C
4. Chris Coghlan, LF
5. Mike Baxter, RF
6. Chris Denorfia, CF
7. Jonathan Herrera, 3B
8. Jake Arrieta, SP
9. Addison Russell, 2B

Mets

1. Curtis Granderson, RF
2. Darrell Ceciliani, CF
3. Daniel Murphy, 3B
4. Lucas Duda, 1B
5. Wilmer Flores, 2B
6. Eric Campbell, LF
7. Johnny Monell, C
8. Jacob deGrom, SP
9. Ruben Tejada, SS

The Cubs won behind a dominant Arrieta (shocking, I know), but also got a home run and three RBI from Herrera.

Now compare these to the lineups for Game 1 and beyond.

So, as has been noted, the Cubs 7-0 record against the Mets this season means very little.

Jonathan Herrera's two-run blast was a big deal last time these teams played.
