WATCH: Golfer thinks he hits water on Island Green, nearly makes ace

Kiradech Aphibarnret through he made a huge mistake on Thursday at The Players Championship. Instead, he nearly registered a hole-in-one.

Kiradech Aphibarnrat took on the Island Green during the first round of the 2016 Players Championship on Thursday. He thought the Island Green won after making initial contact on the tee box.

In fact, he was so sure his shot was in the water that he turned away and couldn't even look at it. Turns out the ball landed about three feet from the hole and was one of the closest shots to the pin all day.

This is what we sometimes refer to as #TourSauce, a move only a pro would make. In this case, utter disgust over a shot most of us would give one of our toes to have hit. I love it. The Barn Rat lives!

The birdie, by the way, got Aphibarnrat to 1 over on the day before he turned to his second nine (the front nine on the course).
