The first two rounds of the 2023 PGA Championship are in the books with a crowded top of the leaderboard. Scottie Scheffler, Viktor Hovland and Corey Conners are all co-leaders at 5-under-par, while Bryson DeChambeau is two shots back. Outside of the co-leaders, Justin Suh (-3) is the only other golfer to break par in each of the first two rounds of the PGA Championship 2023. Rain is forecasted for Oak Hill Country Club over the weekend, so how much shuffling there will be of the leaderboard remains to be seen. The first tee times for Round 3 are set for 8:10 a.m. ET on Saturday.

Justin Thomas was three shots back a year ago after two rounds before rallying to win, so there's hope for the likes of Brooks Koepka (-2) and Callum Tarren (-2). The latest 2023 PGA Championship odds have Scheffler as the +130 favorite (risk $100 to win $130), per Caesars Sportsbook. Next in line is Hovland (+400), followed by Conners (+650), Koepka (+800), DeChambeau (+1400) and Rory McIlroy (+2200). With so many experienced players atop the 2023 PGA Championship leaderboard, you'll want to check out the PGA Tour predictions from the proven computer model at SportsLine before locking in your 2023 PGA Championship picks for the remaining two rounds.

SportsLine's proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been red-hot since the PGA Tour resumed in June of 2020. In fact, the model is up over $8,800 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.

McClure's model predicted Jon Rahm would finish on top of the leaderboard at the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express. And at the 2023 Masters, the model was all over Rahm's second career major victory heading into the weekend. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the third round, but the model still projected him as the winner.

In addition, the model included Nick Hardy and Davis Riley in its best bets to win the 2023 Zurich Classic. That bet hit at +4500, and for the entire tournament, McClure's best bets returned over $1,100. McClure's best bets also included Jason Day winning outright at the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson, even though he hadn't won a PGA Tour event since 2018.

This same model has also nailed a whopping nine majors entering the weekend. Anyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.

Now that the cut has been made at the 2023 PGA Championship, SportsLine simulated the final two rounds 10,000 times, and the results were surprising. Head to SportsLine now to see the projected 2023 PGA Championship leaderboard.

Top 2023 PGA Championship predictions

One huge shocker the model is calling for at the PGA Championship 2023: Conners (13-2), a two-time PGA winner and one of the co-leaders heading into the weekend, stumbles down the stretch and barely cracks the top five. The Canadian has had success at the Masters with three top-10 finishes at Augusta National, but that success hasn't extended to the other majors. Across 11 career starts at the other major tournaments, Conners has zero top-10s.

Conners' biggest struggle is on the greens, where he ranks outside the top 100 on tour in strokes gained putting. He faired well with his putter through the first two rounds, but that came when the spotlight wasn't on him. Now as a co-leader, there will be pressure on every putt and he hasn't demonstrated he can rise to the occasion in those situations at majors. With big names at the top of the leaderboard, including ones with majors on their resumes, the model sees other 2023 PGA Championship golfers with better value this weekend.

Another surprise: Collin Morikawa, a massive 75-1 longshot, makes a run at the title. He has the PGA Championship pedigree as the winner of this event in 2020. He was six strokes back after the second round in that event before rallying on the weekend for the first of his two major wins. Coincidentally, Morikawa also sits six shots back at the 2023 PGA Championship, but he clearly knows what it takes to make a charge up the leaderboard.

The 26-year-old has seven top 10s over his last 11 major appearances as he's put himself in the conversation to win every event he enters. There may be no more precise golfer in the world as Morikawa ranks third in driving accuracy percentage and fifth in greens in regulation percentage. With additional top five rankings in strokes gained: tee-to-green and strokes gained: approach the green, Morikawa has as complete a game as anyone and shouldn't be overlooked heading into the weekend. See who else to pick here.

How to make 2023 PGA Championship picks

The model is targeting three other golfers with odds of 45-1 or longer who will make surprising runs. Anyone who backs these longshots could hit it big. You can only see the model's PGA Championship picks here.
