Cameron Young has yet to win on the PGA Tour, but the latest odds give the impression this could be his best chance to break through heading into the 2023 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities. Young is coming off back-to-back top-10 finishes, including a T-8 showing at the Open Championship. In addition, the reigning PGA Rookie of the Year has the second-lowest 2023 3M Open odds at 14-1 according to Caesars Sportsbook.

Young has placed in the top 10 in more than a quarter of his tournaments (12 of 47) with eight top-five finishes. With a weaker 3M Open 2023 field, is this his chance to breakthrough? Tony Finau, the defending champion, is the 12-1 favorite, followed by Sungjae Im (16-1) and Hideki Matsuyama (18-1) in the latest 2023 3M Open odds. Before locking in your 2023 3M Open picks, be sure to see the golf predictions and projected leaderboard from the proven computer model at SportsLine.

Our proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been red-hot since the PGA Tour resumed in June of 2020. In fact, the model is up more than $9,700 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.

McClure's model predicted Jon Rahm would finish on top of the leaderboard at the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express. And at the 2023 Masters, the model was all over Rahm's second career major victory heading into the weekend. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the third round, but the model still projected him as the winner. It was the second straight Masters win for the model, which also nailed Scottie Scheffler winning in 2022.

In addition, the model included Nick Taylor in its best bets to win the 2023 RBC Canadian Open. That bet hit at +7000, and for the entire tournament, McClure's best bets returned nearly $1,900. McClure's best bets also included Jason Day (17-1) winning outright at the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson and Rickie Fowler (14-1) finishing on top of the leaderboard at the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic.

This same model has also nailed a whopping 10 majors entering the weekend. Anyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.

Now that the 2023 3M Open field is set, SportsLine simulated the tournament 10,000 times, and the results were surprising. Head to SportsLine now to see the projected leaderboard.

Top 2023 3M Open predictions

One major surprise the model is calling for at the 3M Open 2023: Im, a two-time PGA Tour winner and one of the top favorites at 16-1, stumbles and fails to crack the top 10. The 25-year-old South Korean was the 2018-19 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year and he's currently ranked No. 27 in the OWGR.

However, he was ranked as high as 17th earlier this year and has missed the cut in four of his last eight worldwide starts. His best finish during that span was T-20 at the 2023 Open Championship last week and his current run of form doesn't seem to justify his status as one of the top favorites.

Another surprise: Ryan Fox, a 50-1 longshot, makes a strong run at the title. He has a much better chance to win it all than his odds imply, so he's a target for anyone looking for a huge payday. The New Zealand native hasn't won a PGA Tour event in 32 tries, but the DP World Tour veteran has eight international victories, including two in 2022. He earned a special temporary membership for the 2023 PGA Tour.

Despite still seeking that first victory, he's made the most of his opportunities this season. The 36-year-old has made 10 of his 12 cuts in PGA Tour events this season, missing the cut once and withdrawing another time. Fox is two tournaments removed from his best finish of the season (T-12 at Genesis Scottish Open) and has shot 70 or better in eight of his last 12 rounds. At 50-1 odds, Fox could provide significant value to shock the PGA Tour. See who else to pick here.
