TULSA, Okla. (AP) D'Angelo Brewer ran for 140 yards and a touchdown, Shamari Brooks rushed for 111 yards and another score as Tulsa pulled away in the second half for a 45-17 victory over Houston on Saturday.

McKinley Whitfield had a 52-yard interception return and Chad President ran in from a yard out three plays later to pull the Golden Hurricane (2-5, 1-2 American Athletic Conference) within 10-7 at halftime.

President added a 2-yard TD-run and Brewer scored on a 46-yard run to give Tulsa a 24-10 lead after three quarters.

Dillon Birden ran for a 24-yard touchdown to pull Houston (4-2, 2-1) to 24-17 with 11:32 left. Luke Skipper answered with a 70-yard touchdown pass to Keenen Johnson, and Brooks capped a nearly six-minute drive on a 5-yard run with 35 seconds remaining.

Tulsa's Petera Wilson Jr. recovered a Kyle Postma fumble and returned it three yards for a late touchdown.
