The Princeton Tigers hope to remain perfect in the all-time series when they visit the UMBC Retrievers on Monday. Princeton (0-2) has won all three of its previous meetings with UMBC, including an 89-77 victory last season. The Tigers are coming off a 74-73 setback at Navy on Friday, while the Retrievers (1-1) posted a 92-65 triumph against Penn State-York a day earlier in their home opener.

After trailing by 20 points at halftime, the Tigers outscored the Midshipmen 47-28 in the second half but were unable to complete the comeback. Keeshawn Kellman led the team in scoring with 20 points, registering his second straight 20-point performance to open the campaign by going 9-of-13 from the field. The senior forward was 9-for-9 en route to 21 points in a loss to Hofstra in Princeton's first contest.

Matt Allocco also produced a strong effort versus Navy as he set career highs of 19 points and nine rebounds. The junior guard sank four of Princeton's six 3-pointers in the defeat after going 0-for-2 from beyond the arc in the season opener. Senior forward Tosan Evbuomwan, who had 18 points, seven assists and five boards in the victory over UMBC last campaign, recorded 15, five and nine, respectively, against Navy.

Why UMBC can cover

Yaw Obeng-Mensah scored only seven points in the Retrievers' season opener but was a force in helping the team win its seventh consecutive home opener. The senior forward registered his first career double-double against Penn State-York, scoring a personal-best 19 points while grabbing 10 rebounds. Obeng-Mensah also led all players in the loss at Tulane with eight boards.

Senior guard Jacob Boonyasith was nearly perfect from the field against the Nittany Lions, making 6-of-7 shots en route to 14 points. A pair of fellow seniors finished with 13 points in the victory, with guard Colton Lawrence going 6-for-9 from the floor and forward Jarvis Doles hitting 4-of-6 attempts off the bench. Lawrence, who also recorded four rebounds and three assists, led the Retrievers with 14 points versus the Green Wave in the season opener.
