Pac-12 scoreboard for Dec. 22

Georgia 64, USC 56: All it took was one big stretch by Kentavious Caldwell-Poe to lift the Bulldogs to the win. Caldwell-Pope had 12 of his 25 points in a five-minute spurt to open the second half, helping Georgia take its first lead on the first possession out of halftime. The Bulldogs (4-7) would not trail again. John Cannon and Brandon Morris each added 10 points for Georgia, which won consecutive games for the first time this year. Omar Oraby had 14 points and Eric Wise 12 to lead USC (4-8), which has lost 13 straight road games.

Arizona State 77, Texas Tech 62: The Sun Devils (10-2) continued their strong start behind their impressive trio of Jonathan Gilling, Jahii Carson and Carrick Felix. And they took their turns. Gilling and Carson scored 18 points but Gilling took over early, knocking down five first-half 3-pointers, while Carson had 16 points of his points in the second half. Felix added 13 points and nine rebounds for the Sun Devils, who have won six of seven. Jaye Crockett had 11 points and nine rebounds to lead the Red Raiders (5-4), and Jordan Tolbert and Josh Gray each added 10 points.

Oregon 91, Houston Baptist 50: The Ducks did most of their damage from downtown against the Huskies on Saturday afternoon. Oregon hit nine of 16 3-pointers after dominating early, building a 13-point lead in less than six minutes. Tony Woods had 14 points and E.J. Singler 13 to lead the Ducks (9-2), who've won five of six games. Damyean Dotson and Carlos Emory added 10 points each for Oregon, which led by 28 late in the first half. Art Bernardi had 14 points to lead the Huskies (4-7), and Tyler Russell added 12 points.

Cal 85, Prairie View A&M 63: All it took for the Bears to get back into their winning ways was a string of lesser opponents. After dropping three straight to Wisconsin and ranked UNLV and Creighton, Cal (8-3) has won two straight, resuming the roll that it had in winning six straight to open the season. Again, it was Allen Crabbe leading the way, as he had 23 points on 8-of-11 shooting, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals to lift the Bears over the Panthers. Richard Solomon added 18 points and Justin Cobbs 14 points for the Bears, while Jourdan DeMuynck had 11 points to lead Prairie View A&M.

Washington 67, Northern Illinois 57: The hottest scorer in the Pac-12 is now leading the way for one of the hottest teams in the conference. Huskies veteran C.J. Wilcox topped the 20-point mark for the seventh time in eight games, lifting Washington (8-4) to its fourth straight win with 22 points. Aziz N'Diaye had his fourth double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds for the Huskies, who took an early lead and led by 11 at the half. Abdel Nader led Northern Illinois (2-9) with 18 points, and Keith Gray added 10.

Oregon State 86, San Diego 79: The Beavers withstood a late rally as a trio of scorers led the way. Roberto Nelson, Eric Moreland and Devon Collier combined for 58 points as Oregon State shot a blazing 59.2 percent from the field and 57 percent from 3-point range. Nelson went 8 for 8 from the free throw line and finished with 20 points while Moreland went 7 for 8 from the field and also had 20 points. Collier added 18 as Oregon State (9-2) won its fifth straight. Chris Manresa had 18 points to lead four in double-figures for the Toreros (6-7).

No. 4 Arizona 73, E. Tennessee State 53 (Diamond Head Classic, Honolulu, Hawaii): Arizona went up by 21 in the first half and won by 20, despite having just one player in double-figures. The Wildcats (10-0) didn't need to score much -- and at 42 percent from the field, they couldn't if they tried -- as they held ETSU to just 31 percent shooting and 26 percent from 3-point range. Brandon Ashley was the lone Wildcat in double-figures, notching a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Eight other Wildcats had more than five points and six had seven or more. Jarvis Jones led the Buccaneers (2-8) with 21 points, but no teammate scored more than nine. 

UCLA 91, Fresno State 78: The Bruins trailed for much of the first half before turning it on late, then they cruised in the second half behind a trio of talented freshmen. Shabazz Muhammad had 27 points, Jordan Adams had 25 and Kyle Anderson was three assists shy of a triple-double, finishing with 20 points, 17 rebounds and seven assists. The Fresno State offense was sound, hitting 47 percent of its shots and shooting 59 percent from 3-point range, but a 42-26 rebounding disadvantage proved too tough to overcome. Marvelle Harris had 19 points to lead the Bulldogs (5-7), and Tyler Johnson added 16 points and five assists.

Star of the night: Anderson, UCLA. Anderson wasn't the top or even second-best scorer for UCLA on Saturday night, but the Swiss Army Knife did what he does best: almost everything. Anderson had 20 points, 17 rebounds and seven assists, to go along with three steals and two blocks, for good measure. The Bulldogs had no answers for the positionless freshman.

Inside the box score -- 3 numbers worth a second look

19:38 -- Georgia trailed for almost 20 minutes on Saturday night against USC. Then it led for the last 19:38. The Bulldogs scored on a Caldwell-Pope jumper just 22 seconds into the second half to claim a 29-28 lead, then led for almost the entire duration of the game. 

25.7 -- The Oregon Ducks may have found the net with frequency from behind the arc, but what led them to a big win was stopping Houston Baptist from doing the same. The Huskies did little from anywhere, as the Ducks held them to 18 of 70 shooting.

25-0 -- If basketball is entirely a game of momentum, Cal had it all on Saturday against Prairie View A&M. Twice the Bears went on huge runs -- 14-0 and 11-0 -- to take complete control.
