What to Know
The Bradley Braves haven't won a game against the Missouri State Bears since Feb. 19 of 2020, but they'll be looking to end the drought on Wednesday. Bradley and MSU will face off in a Missouri Valley battle at 8 p.m. ET at JQH Arena. The Braves should still be riding high after a win, while the Bears will be looking to get back in the win column.
Bradley beat the Illinois State Redbirds 72-64 on Saturday. Bradley can attribute much of their success to forward Malevy Leons, who had 21 points along with nine rebounds. Leons hadn't helped his team much against the Southern Illinois Salukis last week, so this was a nice turnaround for him.
Meanwhile, a victory for MSU just wasn't in the stars on Sunday as the squad never even grasped a temporary lead. They have to be aching after a bruising 95-75 loss to the Northern Iowa Panthers. The losing side was boosted by forward Gaige Prim, who had 24 points in addition to six boards.
The Braves are expected to lose this next one by 5.5. However, those who like betting on the underdog should be happy to hear that they are 6-2 against the spread when expected to lose.
Bradley is now 16-12 while the Bears sit at 20-9. A couple numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: Bradley have been holding their opponents to a field goal percentage of 39.80%, which places them 25th in college basketball. But MSU comes into the contest boasting the 18th highest field goal percentage in college basketball at 48.20%. These opposing strengths should make for an exciting matchup.
