What to Know

Houston Chr. will be in front of their home fans on Saturday, but a look at the spread shows they might need that home-court advantage. They and the Texas A&M-Commerce Lions will face off in a Southland battle at 4:30 p.m. ET at Sharp Gymnasium. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Houston Chr.'s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 91-79 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Islanders. Houston Chr. has not had much luck with the Islanders recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

The Huskies have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-20 record this season. As for the Lions, their loss dropped their record down to 10-18.

Saturday's contest is shaping up to be a scrappy match: Houston Chr. have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 37.5 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Texas A&M-Commerce, though, as they've been averaging only 32 rebounds per game. Given Houston Chr.'s sizable advantage in that area, the Lions will need to find a way to close that gap.

Houston Chr. didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Lions when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 69-65 win.
