UMass-Lowell wins 86-82 over UMBC
LOWELL, Mass. (AP) Max Brooks had 24 points in UMass-Lowell's 86-82 victory against UMBC on Saturday.
Brooks added 13 rebounds for the River Hawks (12-4, 3-0 America East Conference). Quinton Mincey scored 17 points while going 7 of 12 and 3 of 3 from the free throw line. Ayinde Hikim was 4 of 14 shooting and 6 of 8 from the free throw line to finish with 14 points.
The Retrievers (5-13, 0-3) were led by Dion Brown, who posted 23 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. UMBC also got 15 points from Marcus Banks. Anthony Valentine also had 15 points and four assists. The Retrievers extended their losing streak to eight in a row.
