Suzuki was recalled from AHL Springfield on Friday. Suzuki has 14 goals and 30 points in 51 outings with Springfield in 2023-24. Although he'll join the Hurricanes for the time being, the 22-year-old is not expected to play for Carolina during the postseason.... See More ... See Less

Hurricanes' Ryan Suzuki: Moved to AHL
Suzuki (shoulder) was activated off the non-roster, injured reserve and reassigned to AHL Tuscon on Thursday, per Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal. Suzuki suffered the injury during the preseason and missed the start of the 2023-24 campaign as a result. The 22-year-old had 13 goals and 32 points in 50 contests with AHL Chicago last season. He'll get back up to speed in the minors, but if all goes well, Suzuki might get an opportunity to make his NHL debut before the end of the campaign. The Hurricanes took him with the No. 28 overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Ryan Suzuki: Closing in on return
Suzuki (shoulder) is expected to return to action soon as coach Rod Brind'Amour told reporters Wednesday, "I think they're really close to playing, if not about to play," per Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site. Given his extended absence, Suzuki could be in line for some minutes in the minors on a conditioning assignment, though Carolina doesn't currently have an AHL affiliate which will complicate matters. Eventually, once given the all-clear to suit up, Suzuki could challenge for a spot on the 23-man roster despite having yet to make his NHL debut.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Ryan Suzuki: Injury deemed not serious
Suzuki's shoulder injury has been classified as "not serious" by coach Rod Brind'Amour, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports. Suzuki is expected to be out for at least a week after suffering a shoulder injury in Thursday's preseason contest. While Suzuki's status for Carolina's opener may be in doubt, it doesn't sound like the injury will sideline him long term. Suzuki will likely start the year in the minors, with an eye toward making his NHL debut at some point in the 2023-24 season.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Ryan Suzuki: Activated, reassigned to minors
Suzuki (upper body) was removed from non-roster injured reserve and sent down to AHL Chicago on Wednesday, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports. Suzuki's injury during training camp pretty much guaranteed he would start the year in the minors. While the organization appears set to allow Suzuki to get his legs back under him while in the minors, he should be on the shortlist of potential call-ups for the rest of the season.... See More ... Hurricanes' Ryan Suzuki: Placed on IR-NR
Suzuki (upper body) was placed on non-roster injured reserve Wednesday, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports. Suzuki missed most of training camp with an upper-body injury and will likely be moved to the minors once he's healthy. The 2019 first-round pick has yet to make his NHL debut.... See More ... Hurricanes' Ryan Suzuki: Expected to miss rest of camp
Suzuki (upper body) is expected to miss the rest of Carolina's training camp, Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal reports. Suzuki will likely head to the minors once he's medically cleared. The 21-year-old forward picked up seven goals and 14 points through 34 games with AHL Chicago last year.... See More ... See Less
