Zibanejad had the primary assist on Vincent Trocheck's game-winning goal in Tuesday's 4-3 double-overtime win over Carolina in Game 2.

Zibanejad threw a shot towards the net during the second overtime that popped out to Vincent Trocheck for the game-winner. In addition to the assist, Zibanejad recorded six shots on net, two hits and a minus-2 rating in the tilt. He already has four points (two goals) in two contests this series. The first-line center is up to 11 points in the playoffs -- just one behind superstar center Connor McDavid.

  • Rangers' Alexander Wennberg: Chipping in offense

Wennberg produced a secondary assist in Tuesday's 4-3 double-overtime win over Carolina in Game 2.

Wennberg helped out on Alexis Lafreniere's goal in the first period. It was the first point in six playoff contests this year for the 29-year-old Wennberg, who is relied upon for depth, not primary scoring. He's been serving as the Rangers' third-line center between Will Cuylle and Kaapo Kakko.

  • Rangers' Vincent Trocheck: Nets game-winning goal

Trocheck scored the game-winning goal in Tuesday's 4-3 double-overtime win over Carolina in Game 2.

Trocheck was able to find a rebound in front of Frederik Andersen before he buried the puck five-hole to win the contest for New York. Trocheck also registered a primary assist on Chris Kreider's third-period tally to go along with six shots on goal, one blocked shot and three hits. Furthermore, the 30-year-old Trocheck skated the most of any player on either team in Tuesday's tilt with a whopping 35:21 of ice time. He's up to five goals and five assists in six appearances this postseason.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Solid in Game 2 win

Shesterkin turned aside 54 of 57 shots on goal in Tuesday's 4-3 double-overtime win over Carolina in Game 2.

Shesterkin extended his undefeated streak in the playoffs to six games, even with Carolina peppering him in this one. It's the second contest in a row Shesterkin has let in at least three goals, but the Rangers have given him enough offensive support to keep his streak going. Overall this postseason, Shesterkin is 6-0 with a 2.01 GAA and a .929 save percentage through six outings.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Set to start Tuesday

Shesterkin is expected to start at home against Carolina in Game 2 on Tuesday, per Colin Stephenson of Newsday.

Shesterkin stopped 22 of 25 shots en route to a 4-3 victory over the Hurricanes in Game 1 on Sunday. He's opened the playoffs with five straight victories while allowing just 10 goals on 126 shots (.921 save percentage). However, the Hurricanes ranked eighth offensively in the regular season with 3.38 goals per contest, so they're likely to continue to be a challenging adversary for Shesterkin.

  • Rangers' Jack Roslovic: Hands out helper

Roslovic logged an assist in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Hurricanes in Game 1.

Roslovic set up the first of Mika Zibanejad's two goals in the first period. While he hardly stands out on offense, Roslovic has been steady for the Rangers in the playoffs -- he's on a six-game point streak (three goals, three assists) that dates back to the regular-season finale. The 27-year-old is still in a top-line role at even strength, though he's prone to having shifts skipped depending on the flow of the game.

  • Rangers' Alexis Lafreniere: Sets up game-winner

Lafreniere notched an assist, two shots on goal and two hits in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Hurricanes in Game 1.

Lafreniere helped out on an Artemi Panarin goal in the third period, which stood as the game-winner. This was Lafreniere's fifth helper in as many postseason contests, though only two of them have come at even strength. Lafreniere has added nine shots on net, 10 hits and an even plus-minus rating while filling a middle-six role for the Rangers during the playoffs.

  • Rangers' Adam Fox: Notches assist in win

Fox logged an assist, two blocked shots, two PIM and a minus-2 rating in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Hurricanes in Game 1.

Fox has a helper in each of the last three games after he was held off the scoresheet in the first two contests of the playoffs. The defenseman has added four shots on net, 15 blocked shots, five hits and a plus-2 rating. Fox will see a heavy workload on the Rangers' top pairing and first power-play unit, but he may have to focus more on defense since the Hurricanes boast a strong top six.

  • Rangers' Chris Kreider: Contributes two power-play helpers

Kreider logged two power-play assists and two PIM in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Hurricanes in Game 1.

Kreider earned his first multi-point effort of the playoffs by helping out on first-period tallies by Mika Zibanejad and Vincent Trocheck. The 33-year-old Kreider has been solid in the postseason with five points, 10 shots on net, nine hits and a plus-1 rating over five contests. He provides a little grit and a strong net-front presence both on the power play and at even strength, in addition to playing significant shorthanded minutes.

  • Rangers' Artemi Panarin: Scores in Sunday's win

Panarin scored a goal on four shots in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Hurricanes in Game 1.

Panarin's third-period tally ended up being the game-winner, as the Rangers had to fend off the Hurricanes' late comeback attempt. Through five playoff contests, Panarin has three goals, one assist and 15 shots on net. The winger had a career-best 49 goals and 120 points in the regular season, but he may have trouble replicating such a high scoring pace against a defense as stout as the Hurricanes in the second round.

  • Rangers' Vincent Trocheck: Two power-play points Sunday

Trocheck scored a goal on three shots, added an assist, blocked two shots and logged two PIM in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Hurricanes in Game 1.

Both of Trocheck's points came on the power play as the Rangers opened a 3-1 lead in the first period. The 30-year-old center has found his game in the postseason with four goals and four assists over five outings. Trocheck continues to play on the second line at even strength, and he's also on the top power-play unit, where he's earned five of his eight points during the playoffs.

  • Rangers' Mika Zibanejad: Starring role in Game 1 win

Zibanejad scored twice, added an assist and blocked two shots in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Hurricanes in Game 1.

Zibanejad scored the Rangers' first two goals and added an assist on a Vincent Trocheck tally. All three of Zibanejad's points came in the first period, and two of them were on the power play. He's racked up four straight multi-point efforts and his point streak is at 11 games (five goals, 13 helpers) dating back to April 5. The 31-year-old center plays in all situations for the Rangers, and that's unlikely to change in this second-round series.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Grabs Game 1 win

Shesterkin stopped 22 of 25 shots in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Hurricanes in Game 1 of the second round.

Shesterkin didn't show much rust despite getting a week off after the Rangers swept the Capitals in the first round. He's won seven starts in a row, and this was just the second time in that span he's given up more than two goals. The 28-year-old netminder has allowed 10 goals over five playoff outings and should have no trouble maintaining his place between the pipes in the second round.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Guarding cage Sunday

Shesterkin will get the starting nod for Game 1 at home against the Hurricanes on Sunday, Arthur Staple of The Athletic reports.

Shesterkin was dominant in a sweep over the Capitals last round. He posted a .931 save percentage and allowed two or fewer goals in three contests. The 28-year-old hasn't lost a game since April 9 and hasn't given up more than three goals in a start since March 26. Shesterkin is 9-2-0 with a 1.98 GAA over his last 11 appearances.
