Blackson will join his sixth NFL squad for his 10th season in the league after playing 11 games for the Jaguars in 2023. Blackson tallied a sack and a tackle in the Bears' 31-17 Week 18 loss to the Vikings, and he ended the season with 43 tackles and 2.5 sacks. In his first year with the Bears, who were the fourth team he's played on in his seven-year career, Blackson went from posting about 20 tackles per year to going over the 40 mark as he rotated with Akiem Hicks. Blackson started 15 of 16 regular-season games and recorded 20 tackles for Houston in 2019. This was the first season as a primary starter at defensive end for Blackson, who has two years remaining on his contract. He's a known quantity to new defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver, which should put Blackson in position to compete for a starting job along the line in 2020. Blackson signed a contract with the Texans on Thursday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports. While the Texans elected not to tender Blackson as a restricted free agent, he's back in the fold after spending the final nine games of the 2017 season with the Texans.
