  • Browns' Ahmarean Brown: Gets deal with Cleveland

The Browns signed Brown as an undrafted free agent Friday.

Brown is a 5-foot-8 wideout who began his college career with Georgia Tech before transferring to South Carolina. In his senior season, he tallied 26 receptions for 265 yards and a touchdown over nine games. Brown will look to compete for a roster spot among a Cleveland wide-receiver corps that is headed by Amari Cooper, Jerry Jeudy and Elijah Moore.

  • Browns' Zak Zinter: At rookie minicamp

Zinter (lower leg) participated at rookie minicamp practice Friday, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.

Zinter sustained a broken tibia and fibula during his last game at Michigan back in November, but he's apparently already back in action. He figures to provide depth to the interior of a stacked Browns offensive line in 2024.

  • Browns' Treyton Welch: Joins up with Browns

    Cleveland signed Welch on Friday.

Welch hauled in 31 catches for 308 yards and two touchdowns in his senior season at Wyoming. At 6-foot-4, 240 pounds, it seems likely he'd fill a role along the lines of a large slot receiver at the next level if he can earn playing time.

  • Browns' Aidan Robbins: Bound for Cleveland

The Browns signed Robbins on Friday.

Robbins turned 101 carries into 485 yards and a touchdown during his senior season at BYU. There's no doubt that his frame would hold up between the tackles at the next level, but it's not clear he's explosive enough to force his way onto the field.

  • Browns' Cedric Tillman: Could take step forward in Year 2

Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer and Zac Jackson of The Athletic suggest that Tillman (concussion) is a candidate to take a step forward in his second season as a pro.

Per Cabot, the Browns figure to frequently employ Amari Cooper, Jerry Jeudy and Elijah Moore in three-receiver sets, but Tillman nonetheless should see his share of opportunities as the season progresses, especially if injuries hit the aforementioned trio. As a rookie, the 2023 third-round pick recorded a 21-224-0 line on 44 targets in 14 regular-season games, but if he's able to carve out steadier playing time in 2024, the 6-foot-3, 215-pounder -- who missed Cleveland's wild-card loss to the Texans with a concussion -- could emerge as a solid complementary option alongside the team's top pass catchers. Also in the mix for snaps in the Browns' WR corps are 2022 third-rounder David Bell and 2024 fifth-rounder Jamari Thrash.

  • Browns' Nyheim Hines: Plans to be ready for camp

Hines (knee) said Tuesday he expects to be available for the start of training camp, Camryn Justice of News 5 Cleveland reports.

Hines underwent surgery to repair his left ACL last August, then was released by the Bills in March after missing the entire 2023 season. Assuming he's indeed healthy by the start of training camp, Hines should compete for third-down snaps in the backfield and return work on special teams. With Nick Chubb working his way back from a serious knee injury of his own and no lock to be ready for Week 1, Jerome Ford and D'Onta Foreman are likely to operate as Cleveland's top backs to begin training camp.
