Levi was loaned to AHL Rochester on Tuesday. Levi has posted a 3-4-1 record this season with a 3.73 GAA and an .876 save percentage in nine appearances. He will get a chance to play regularly at the AHL level before possibly returning to the Sabres down the line. With Levi out of the NHL picture for now, Eric Comrie is projected to serve as Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen's backup. Luukkonen, who is riding a three-game win streak, should be able to string together some starts.... See More ... See Less

Sabres' Devon Levi: Allows three in relief
Levi made 17 saves on 20 shots in two periods of relief Saturday in a 7-2 loss to the Devils. Levi entered the game at the start of the second period after starter Eric Comrie allowed four in the opening frame. Comrie took the loss, but neither man had help from their teammates. Levi stood on his head at times, including a 10-bell save on John Marino from in tight to keep the score 5-1 in the second. Levi is 3-4-1 in eight starts, with a 3.73 GAA and .876 save percentage. The 21-year-old could use some development in the AHL, but the Sabres may not send him down unless they are miles out of contention.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Devon Levi: So close, but yet so far from win
Levi made 26 saves in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Capitals on Wednesday. He almost got the Sabres to a shootout, but Dylan Strome scored with eight seconds left in overtime to take the win. In November, Levi is 2-1-1 with 15 goals allowed and an .865 save percentage. Whispers are becoming louder that Levi would benefit from some development in the AHL, but there's no sign yet from the Sabres that this is even on the radar.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Devon Levi: Set to start Wednesday
Levi is expected to start on the road against Washington on Wednesday, per Tom Gulitti of NHL.com. Levi has struggled this season with a 3.65 GAA and an .881 save percentage in seven contests. He had a particularly rough time in his last appearance against Boston on Nov. 14, stopping 13 of 18 shots in a 5-2 loss. Washington should be an easier adversary -- the Capitals rank 31st offensively with 2.47 goals per game this year.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Devon Levi: Starting against Bruins
Levi will patrol the home crease against Boston on Tuesday, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports. Levi has won his past two starts, including a 33-save performance in a 3-2 victory over Minnesota on Friday. In six appearances this season, he has posted a 3-3-0 record with a 3.17 GAA and an .896 save percentage. The Bruins rank 17th in the league this campaign with 3.21 goals per contest.... See More ... Sabres' Devon Levi: Notches third win of season
Levi turned aside 33 shots in Friday's 3-2 win over the Wild. The 21-year-old netminder ended up as the game's first star after a strong performance that saw Minnesota only get pucks past Levi on power plays in the first and third periods. Since returning from a lower-body injury at the beginning of the month, he's won both his starts to improve to a 3-3-0 record with a 3.18 GAA and an .896 save percentage. The Sabres are rolling for now with a timeshare in net between Levi and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, but it may not be long before the younger Levi regains the No. 1 job.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Devon Levi: Slated to start Saturday
Levi (lower body) is expected to start in Saturday's road contest versus Toronto, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550. It will be Levi's first game since Oct. 19, though he did take a step toward returning from his lower-body injury by serving as the backup goaltender Wednesday and Friday. He has a 1-3-0 record, 3.26 GAA and .892 save percentage in four appearances this year. The Maple Leafs are in a three-way tie for 15th offensively with 3.10 goals per game.... See More ... Sabres' Devon Levi: Could be back Wednesday
Levi (lower body) might be available to suit up as the backup goalie Wednesday against Philadelphia, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports. Levi, who hasn't played since Oct. 19 against Calgary, has been making some progress skating on his own for the past two days. The Sabres hope to have him back at practice Tuesday. Fellow Buffalo netminder Eric Comrie (lower body) is week-to-week, so Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen will probably start Sunday versus Colorado. The Sabres brought up Devin Cooley from AHL Rochester on Saturday to serve as the backup goalie.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Devon Levi: Not quite ready to return
Levi (lower body) isn't quite ready to return Friday versus New Jersey, and the Sabres see no reason to rush the process, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News. Levi, who hasn't played since last Thursday, has a 1-3-0 record, 3.26 GAA and .892 save percentage in four contests this season. While Levi has been dealing with his injury, Eric Comrie and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen have been fine in net. Comrie in particular has stood out, saving 48 of 52 shots (.923 save percentage) over his last two contests. Levi opened the campaign as Buffalo's starter, but if Comrie continues to play well, then perhaps Levi will be challenged for that position.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Devon Levi: Set to miss back-to-back
Levi (lower body) is not expected to be available for Buffalo's next two games, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports. Levi hasn't played since Thursday due to a nagging lower-body issue. Buffalo wants to be cautious with his recovery, so Eric Comrie will start Monday versus the Canadiens and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen could play Tuesday against Ottawa. Levi has allowed 13 goals on 120 shots en route to a 1-3-0 start to the 2023-24 campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Devon Levi: Misses practice Friday
Levi (lower body) wasn't at practice Friday. Levi suffered the injury during Thursday's 4-3 loss at home to the Flames. The rookie netminder is 1-3-0 thus far, giving up 13 goals on 120 shots. Consider Levi day-to-day at this time.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Devon Levi: Hangs on for first win
Levi stopped 21 of 23 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over Tampa Bay. Levi was solid Tuesday, holding the Lightning to one goal before Brandon Hagel tied the game 2-2 with seven seconds left in regulation. However, he'd hang on to pick up his first win of the season after Dylan Cozens tallied the game-winner in overtime. The 21-year-old Levi has started all three of the Sabres' games to open the campaign, going 1-2-0 with an .890 save percentage, as it appears he'll be given a real chance to run with the starting job in Buffalo.... Sabres' Devon Levi: Gets Opening Night start
Levi will protect the home goal versus the Rangers on Thursday, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports. Levi will get the first chance to grab the Sabres' starting job in net. The 21-year-old went 5-2-0 with a 2.94 GAA and a .905 save percentage in his first seven NHL outings after finishing his collegiate career with Northeastern University last season. Levi will likely rotate with Eric Comrie and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen early on until one of the Sabres' goalies separates himself from the pack.... See More ... See Less -

Levi is now 4-2-0 with a .901 save percentage to start his NHL career. He'll likely line up for one more start in Buffalo's final two games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Devon Levi: Starting versus Carolina
Levi will get the home start versus Carolina on Saturday, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports. It will be Levi's fourth start in the last five games for the Sabres. Levi is 2-1-0, giving up 10 goals on 101 shots. He struggled against the Red Wings on Thursday, giving up six goals on 32 shots in a 7-6 shootout win. Levi will face the Hurricanes, who are second overall in the NHL standings with 109 points.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Devon Levi: Starting in Detroit
Levi will patrol the visiting crease versus Detroit on Thursday, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports. The Sabres really want to see what they have in Levi, as he will get his third start in the past four games. The former Northeastern University star netminder is 1-1-0 with the Sabres, giving up four goals on 69 shots. He will face the Red Wings, who are 22nd in NHL scoring, averaging 2.96 goals per game.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Devon Levi: Takes tough loss
Levi stopped 34 of 36 shots in the Sabres' 2-1 loss to the Panthers on Tuesday. In just his second NHL start, Levi was excellent once again, allowing a power-play goal to Aaron Ekblad and the eventual game-winning goal to Matthew Tkachuk in the third period. This marks the second straight game where Levi has allowed two goals and posted at least a .939 save percentage. The Canadian netminder should be the starting goalie for the Sabres as they close out 2022-23 regular season.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Devon Levi: Wins pro debut
Levi turned aside 31 shots in Friday's 3-2 overtime win over the Rangers. The Sabres staked the 21-year-old to a 2-0 lead, and Levi had to survive a furious comeback from the Blueshirts that included 20 shots in the third period alone just to get the game to OT, but Jeff Skinner made sure the kid was a winner in his first NHL start. Buffalo remains five points back of Pittsburgh for the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference, with Florida in between the two, and it's entirely possible Levi gives the Sabres their best chance to close the gap of their three healthy netminders.... Sabres' Devon Levi: Starting Friday
Levi will make his NHL debut Friday versus the Rangers, Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald reports. Levi is considered the Sabres' goaltender of the future, and the future will begin Friday. He had an outstanding NCAA career, especially in 2021-22, when he was 21-10-1 with a 1.54 GAA and .952 save percentage. The Rangers are a tough opponent, as they are third in the Metropolitan Division with 98 points.... See More ... See Less
