  • Penguins' Erik Karlsson: Scores goal in must-win game

Karlsson scored a goal and added an assist in Monday's 4-2 win over the Predators. It's been an up-and-down season for Karlsson, who isn't anywhere close to the 101 points he posted last year. Still, as the Penguins push for a wild card spot, he has picked up the pace. Following a seven-game drought in March, he has posted three goals and nine points in the last seven contests.

  • Penguins' Erik Karlsson: Earns assist in 1,000th game

Karlsson posted a power-play assist, five shots on goal, two PIM and a minus-4 rating in Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Bruins. Karlsson became the newest member of the 1,000-game club Saturday. His stat line was reflective of his career -- he generated some offense on the power play but struggled defensively. The 33-year-old has two goals and five assists over his last six appearances, which came on the heels of a seven-game slump. The defenseman is at 53 points (16 on the power play), 202 shots on net, 98 blocked shots, 44 PIM and a plus-3 rating through 80 contests this season.

  • Penguins' Erik Karlsson: Scores overtime winner

Karlsson scored the game-winning goal in Thursday's 6-5 win over the Red Wings. Karlsson has been finding his offensive stride of late with six points in his last five contests, though none of those tallies were earned with the man advantage. While the 33-year-old blueliner has been putting together a solid campaign, 52 points in 79 games is a far cry from the 101 he racked up last year on his way to the Norris Trophy.

  • Penguins' Erik Karlsson: Three helpers against Bolts

Karlsson notched three assists in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Lightning. The 33-year-old blueliner picked up a helper in each period, none bigger than the one he recorded on Michael Bunting's game-winner in the third. Karlsson has a modest three-game point streak going, but this was his first multi-point performance since Feb. 22. The Penguins could use a hot streak from him to close out the regular season as they fight for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

  • Penguins' Erik Karlsson: Offensive game lacking

Karlsson failed to register a shot in Monday's 5-2 win over the Rangers, extending his goal drought to 18 games. Karlsson is also pointless in his last seven outings. During that scoring slump, he's generated 20 shots, eight blocks and two hits while averaging 23:41 of ice time. Despite the lack of offensive production, the veteran blueliner continues to see time with the No. 1 power-play unit ahead of Kris Letang.

  • Penguins' Erik Karlsson: Goal drought continues

Karlsson failed to score a goal for the 14th straight game against the Avalanche on Sunday. Karlsson's lack of production comes despite having racked up 43 shots on net over that 14-game stretch, including five versus Colorado on Sunday. Brought in to hopefully give the Penguins an offensive boost from the blue line, the 33-year-old defenseman has managed just 46 points in 70 games, well off his 101-point total from last season. His 4.5 shooting percentage is the lowest mark he's posted in five years.

The 33-year-old defenseman is up to 43 points, 135 shots on net, 60 blocked shots, 28 PIM and a plus-10 rating through 56 appearances in a top-four role with ample power-play time.

Karlsson recorded a power-play assist in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Kings. Karlsson set up a Sidney Crosby goal late in the first period. While Karlsson hasn't scored in 13 games, he's logged 10 assists, including four on the power play, in that span. The 33-year-old defenseman is up to 38 points, 121 shots on net, 55 blocked shots and a plus-8 rating through 52 outings overall. He'll likely never come near his 101-point total from last season again, but he still puts up strong offense from the blue line.

Karlsson missed Friday's practice because of an illness, Matt Vensel of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. He's questionable for Saturday's game against Vegas as a result. Karlsson has seven goals and 31 points in 42 outings this season. Karlsson's currently riding a seven-game scoring streak in which he's recorded a goal and seven assists. • Penguins' Erik Karlsson: Extends point streak

Karlsson garnered an assist versus Vancouver in a 4-3 loss Thursday, continuing his five-game point streak. Karlsson has registered one goal and five helpers, including a pair of power-play points, during his current streak. Barring a rapid uptick in productivity, the veteran blueliner shouldn't be expected to repeat his 2022-23 numbers when he put up over 100 points to secure the Norris Trophy. Still, the Swede is on pace to challenge for the 60-point threshold as long as he stays healthy.

  • Penguins' Erik Karlsson: Two helpers against B's

Karlsson notched two assists, one on the power play, in Thursday's 6-5 win over the Bruins. It's his first multi-point effort since Dec. 13, but Karlsson's goal drought now stands at 17 games, a stretch in which he's collected eight helpers. The 33-year-old blueliner hasn't come close to last season's career-best 101-point pace in his first campaign with Pittsburgh, but he's still been reasonably productive with six goals and 26 points through 37 contests.

  • Penguins' Erik Karlsson: Earns assist against Caps

Karlsson notched an assist in Tuesday's clash with Washington. Despite the helper, Karlsson is mired in a 16-game goal drought dating back to Nov. 25 versus Toronto. At this point, there is little chance that the defending Norris Trophy champion will reach the 25-goal mark as he did last year.

  • Penguins' Erik Karlsson: Six points in last 18 games

Karlsson picked up the 600th assist of his career in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Blues. Karlsson is the 18th defender in league history to reach 600 assists,. The only active blueliner with more helpers is Brent Burns of the Hurricanes (606). Karlsson is also the eighth-fastest rearguard to reach the mark (954 games). Karlsson is up to 23 points (six goals, 17 assists) in 34 games, but he has just six points (one goal, five assists) in his last 18 contests. It's almost impossible to bench Karlsson, but with this recent slump, you'd certainly do it if his wasn't the reigning Norris Trophy holder.
