  • Redskins' Logan Paulsen: Finds new home in Washington

Paulsen is signing with Washington, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.

It's a good spot for Paulsen to compete for playing time, considering Washington is losing Jordan Reed (free agent) and Vernon Davis (retirement) this offseason. The team still needs more help at tight end, considering Paulsen didn't play any NFL games last season and has never gone over 308 yards in a campaign. That 308-yard season actually occurred back in 2012 for Washington.

  • Logan Paulsen: Cut by Texans

Paulsen was released by the Texans on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Paulsen has been buried on the depth chart all season, and has failed to see the field as a result. Thus, there is no surprise that the Texans have ultimately opted to part ways with the veteran tight end. He is now free to look for a new gig.

  • Texans' Logan Paulsen: Healthy scratch Monday

Paulsen (coach's decision) won't play in Monday's season opener against the Saints, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Listed as the No. 4 option, Paulsen seemingly only provides depth to Houston's tight end unit. With Darren Fells, Jordan Akins and Jerell Adams all healthy and active for Monday, Houston will let Paulsen sit on the sideline.

  • Texans' Logan Paulsen: Lands with Texans

The Texans will sign Paulsen, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Paulsen will give the Texans some added tight end depth, and his signing figures to foreshadow an IR move or two. The 32-year-old is a strong blocker, but it's been awhile since he's been on the fantasy radar for his pass-catching skills.

  • Logan Paulsen: Time up in Atlanta

Paulsen was released by the Falcons on Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Paulsen is the definition of a reliable veteran tight end, but he found himself the odd man out in Atlanta with Austin Hooper and Luke Stocker already holding down the fort. The 32-year-old should face little difficulty finding a role with a needy team elsewhere in the league.

  • Falcons' Logan Paulsen: Re-ups with Falcons

Paulsen re-signed Saturday with the Falcons on a one-year deal.

It's a bit odd to see the Falcons bring back Paulsen given the team recently signed former Titans tight end Luke Stocker, who profiles similarly as a blocking-first option. Still, the veteran tight end was reliable in his first stint in Atlanta, playing in 362 offensive snaps across 15 games. The nature of both Paulsen's and Stocker's contracts would suggest that, should one outplay the other during training camp, the Falcons could opt to cut ties prematurely.

  • Falcons' Logan Paulsen: Longest reception of season Sunday

Paulsen recorded a 19-yard reception during Sunday's 34-32 win against the Buccaneers.

Paulsen fought through knee and ankle injuries that kept him limited in Wednesday's practice, snapping a three-game catchless streak with his 19-yard reception against the Buccaneers' putrid pass defense. The 31-year-old tight end doesn't offer much in the way of receiving production with just 12 receptions for 106 yards over his past 31 appearances, but he's a proficient run blocker for a unit that needs all the help it can get in that category after finishing as the sixth-worst rush offense in 2018 (98.3 yards per game). With his contract set to expire in the coming months, it remains to be seen if Paulsen will be back in Atlanta for the 2019 season.

Paulsen (knee/ankle) was a full practice participant Thursday, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.

Paulsen began the week as a limited practice participant from the knee and ankle issues that have plagued him for most of December. Assuming the 31-year-old avoids a setback Friday, he should be good to go for Sunday's season finale at Tampa Bay.

  • Falcons' Logan Paulsen: Back-to-back limited practices

Paulsen (knee/ankle) was limited during Thursday's practice session, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.

Coming off two missed practices and his first inactive stint of the year last week against the Packers, Paulsen logged limited showings Wednesday and Thursday of this week and retains a chance to play against Arizona on Sunday. If the veteran tight end is unable to go, it will be second-year man Eric Saubert who sees an uptick in playing time against a Cardinals defense that's tied for the fourth-fewest tight end touchdowns allowed this year with three.

Paulsen (knee/ankle) did not participate in Thursday's practice session, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.

The veteran blocking tight end has logged consecutive missed practices after being pulled midway through the second quarter of Sunday's loss to Baltimore with knee and ankle injuries. As his status for a Week 14 tilt against the Packers remains very much in doubt, 2017 fifth-round draft choice Eric Saubert is primed to see an increase in his season-long offensive snap count percentage of 11.3.
