Packers' Luke Musgrave: Uncertain for remainder of 2023
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said Monday that he doesn't know if Musgrave (abdomen) will be able to play again this season, Ryan Wood of USA Today reports.
Musgrave isn't eligible to return from injured reserve until Week 16, but he appears to be at risk of missing the final seven contests of his rookie season due to a lacerated kidney. While Josiah Deguara (hip) and Musgrave were out for the Packers' Week 12 win over the Lions, rookie Tucker Kraft started at tight end and played 96 percent of the offensive snaps while finishing with two catches for 15 yards and one touchdown. Kraft should be in line for an expanded role moving forward.

Packers' Luke Musgrave: On mend, won't play Thursday
Musgrave is recovering from a lacerated kidney and won't be able to travel to Detroit for Thursday's game against the Lions, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Though he played through injury in Sunday's 23-20 win over the Chargers and finished with four catches for 28 yards on six targets, Musgrave was hospitalized a day later for further observation. While Musgrave was discharged from the hospital Tuesday and is now resting at home and being monitored, his issue has been deemed serious enough that he won't be cleared to fly with the Packers to Detroit. Head coach Matt LaFleur merely said Tuesday that Musgrave's injury was "pretty significant," but the Packers aren't expected to officially rule the tight end out for Week 12 until after Wednesday's practice. While Musgrave is unavailable for the Packers' Thanksgiving Day game, fellow rookie Tucker Kraft is expected to step in as Green Bay's starting tight end.

Packers' Luke Musgrave: Sent to injured reserve
The Packers placed Musgrave (abdomen) on injured reserve Wednesday.
Following Sunday's win over the Chargers, Musgrave was sent to the hospital after he suffering what the Packers termed as an abdominal injury in the team's Week 11 win. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Musgrave has since been diagnosed with a lacerated kidney, and after landing on IR, the rookie tight end will now be sidelined for at least the next four games. Musgrave's absence will pave the way for fellow rookie Tucker Kraft to move up the depth chart and step in as Green Bay's starting tight end beginning with Thursday's game against the Lions.

Packers' Luke Musgrave: Out of hospital
Musgrave (abdomen) was discharged from a Green Bay area hospital Tuesday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Musgrave seemingly emerged from Sunday's win over the Chargers unscathed, having posted four catches on six targets for 28 yards on a 63 percent snap share. However, coach Matt LaFleur revealed Tuesday that Musgrave reported an abdominal injury Monday and subsequently spent time in the hospital, per Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The issue was deemed "pretty significant" by LaFleur, and he didn't rule out an IR stint for the rookie tight end. With Musgrave's status in doubt for Thursday's game at Detroit and Josiah Deguara (hip) not practicing this week, Tucker Kraft and Ben Sims figure to have larger roles in Week 12.

Packers' Luke Musgrave: Hospitalized due to injury
Coach Matt LaFleur said Tuesday that Musgrave is in a Green Bay area hospital due to a "pretty serious" abdominal injury, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Musgrave managed to play 63 percent of the offensive snaps this past Sunday versus the Chargers on his way to four catches on six targets for 28 yards. According to LaFleur, Musgrave didn't mention the abdominal issue until Monday, and the fact that he's hospitalized two days before a game is a strong sign the rookie tight end will miss the first contest of his career Thursday at Detroit. Assuming he is inactive for that game, Tucker Kraft could assume the vast majority of TE reps for Green Bay with Josiah Deguara (hip) also listed as a non-participant on the practice reports Monday and Tuesday.

Packers' Luke Musgrave: Tending to abdominal issue
Musgrave was listed on Monday's estimated practice report as a non-participant due to an abdominal injury.
The Packers didn't hold a practice one day after their 23-20 win over the Chargers, but Musgrave would have sat out had the team taken the field. He played 46 of the Packers' 72 snaps on offense Sunday on his way to finishing with four catches for 28 yards on six targets, and no in-game reports suggested that he was nursing an injury. With the rookie tight end apparently nursing a health concern, however, his status will warrant attention heading into a Thursday matchup with the Lions in Week 12.

Packers' Luke Musgrave: Draws six more targets
Musgrave was targeted six times and caught four passes for 28 yards in Sunday's 23-20 victory over the Chargers.
A quiet afternoon in the box score could have been a rather loud one had quarterback Jordan Love connected with a streaking Musgrave on a likely long gain in the third quarter, but alas it was not meant to be. On the bright side, Musgrave drew his most targets in a game since Week 5, and Love set a career high for passing yards for the second week in a row. Musgrave caught just one pass when the Packers faced their next opponent, the Lions, in their first meeting of the year in Week 4, but he also left that game in the second quarter with a concussion. The rookie tight end is hardly a must-start in shallower fantasy leagues, but with Green Bay's passing offense trending upward and Musgrave drawing 14 targets over the last three games, his value is trending upward.
