  • Texans' Brevin Jordan: Enjoys best game of season

Jordan caught three of four targets for 64 yards in Sunday's 22-17 win over the Broncos in Week 13.

Jordan elevated to the top of the tight end depth chart with Dalton Schultz (hamstring) sidelined and played a season-high 51 snaps. His pass-catching ability has never been questioned, but Jordan does not provide the run-blocking ability to be an every-down player in a lot of offenses. Depending on Schultz's status for Week 14 against the Jets, Jordan could get more opportunities again next week. Additionally, a season-ending injury to Tank Dell (leg) could lead to more targets even if Schultz is ready to go next week.

  • Texans' Brevin Jordan: In line for bigger workload

Jordan is in line for an elevated workload Sunday against the Broncos with Dalton Schultz (hamstring) ruled out for that contest, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Schultz wasn't able to practice this week due to a hamstring injury, and with his status now confirmed for Week 13 action, Jordan and Eric Saubert figure to earn increased snap counts in the short term. Through eight appearances this season, Jordan has hauled in six of seven targets for 60 yards and one touchdown, so the bigger workload may not result in added attention from quarterback C.J. Stroud. Still, Saubert has no catches to his name in three games with the Texans in 2023, meaning Jordan likely is the better bet among the two to make a mark in the box score.

  • Texans' Brevin Jordan: Returns to action

Jordan was not targeted over 15 offensive snaps in Sunday's 21-16 win over the Cardinals in Week 11.

Jordan returned to action after missing three games due to a foot injury. He was one of two active tight ends, but Dalton Schultz is the only Houston tight end that matters. Schultz, who scored his fifth touchdown Sunday, is third on the team in targets with 59 and has nearly seven times more targets than the rest of the position group combined.

  • Texans' Brevin Jordan: Good to go Sunday

Jordan (foot) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

The third-year tight end out of Miami was able to log a full practice Friday after recording a DNP on Wednesday, and it now seems as if he's been able to move past the foot issue that's held him out of the Texans' last three games. Jordan has played a minimal role in Houston's offense thus far, catching all five of his targets for 51 yards and one touchdown.

  • Texans' Brevin Jordan: Returns to field

Jordan (foot) practiced Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

It's not clear whether Jordan logged a limited or full practice, but either way, it's an upgrade from his DNP on Wednesday. The 23-year-old has been out of action since Week 6, but assuming he doesn't suffer any setbacks it's possible he is trending in the right direction to suit up Sunday against the Cardinals.

  • Texans' Brevin Jordan: Can't practice Wednesday

Jordan (foot) did not participate at practice Wednesday.

After missing the Texans' last three games tending to a foot injury, Jordan is now missing Houston's first practice of the new week. Unless he's able to return to practice Thursday or Friday, he'll likely be sidelined in Week 11.

  • Texans' Brevin Jordan: Won't play versus Cincinnati

Jordan (foot) has been ruled out for Sunday's Week 10 game against the Bengals.

This will be Jordan's third consecutive missed game. He has just five catches for 51 yards and one touchdown on the season. Dalton Schultz and Eric Saubert will again handle tight end duties this week.

  • Texans' Brevin Jordan: Not practicing Thursday

Jordan (foot) did not participate in Thursday's practice, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

The 23-year-old tight end missed his second consecutive practice Thursday, and it seems increasingly likely that he'll be out for the second game in a row this Sunday. Jordan has seen a limited role in Houston's offense through six appearances this season, recording 51 yards on only five receptions.

  • Texans' Brevin Jordan: Not yet practicing

Jordan (foot) didn't practice Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Jordan is reportedly making solid progress in his recovery from plantar fasciitis, but whatever improvement he's made isn't enough for him to step back on the practice field. If he can't practice in any capacity Thursday or Friday, Jordan will probably be ruled out for a third consecutive game this Sunday in Cincinnati.

  • Texans' Brevin Jordan: Ruled out for Week 9

Jordan (foot) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bucs.

Jordan has just five catches for 51 yards and one touchdown behind Dalton Schultz this season. Eric Saubert will fill the Texans' No. 2 tight end duties against Tampa Bay in Week 9.

  • Texans' Brevin Jordan: Not practicing Wednesday

Jordan (foot) isn't practicing Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Jordan sat out the Texans' Week 8 loss to Carolina while dealing with plantar fasciitis, and the tight end has yet to shake off the injury as Houston begins preparations for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. If Jordan misses another game, Eric Saubert -- whom Houston signed off Dallas' practice squad Tuesday -- will likely serve as the No. 2 tight end behind starter Dalton Schultz.

  • Texans' Brevin Jordan: Could miss time

Jordan, who did not play in Sunday's 15-13 loss to the Panthers, is dealing with a plantar fasciitis issue in his foot and could miss additional time, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

It's unclear when Jordan picked up the foot injury, but it held him out of Friday's practice and ultimately ruled him out for Week 8. He could be a candidate to be placed on the team's IR if he's going to miss extended time.
