White was promoted from Baltimore's practice squad to the 53-man roster in late September and was mostly utilized as a kick and punt returner. The second-year wideout fumbled Sunday against the Browns, earning criticism from head coach John Harbaugh. If White clears waivers, the Ravens may have interest in re-signing him to the practice squad.

White brought in three of four targets for 70 yards and added one punt return for nine yards in the Ravens' 27-10 preseason win over the Dolphins on Saturday.
The second-year speedster paced all pass catchers in both receptions and receiving yards on the night, making his case for a roster spot on the latter half of the wide receiver depth chart. That quest had experienced a setback over the prior pair of contests, games that White missed with an undisclosed injury. It remains to be seen if Saturday's effort is enough to help him gain ground on the likes of Jordan Lasley (three receptions, 30 yards) and DeVier Posey (two receptions, 31 yards, one TD), but White should have another opportunity to showcase his skills in next Thursday's preseason finale versus the Redskins.

Ravens' Tim White: Status in question for preseason game
White remains in contention for a roster spot, though he's unlikely to play in Thursday's preseason matchup against the Rams due to an undisclosed injury, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic Baltimore reports.
The severity nor the nature of White's injury hasn't been revealed, so his status for the rest of the preseason remains to be seen. Still, Zrebiec notes that White has established himself as one of the top candidates to make the roster under the assumption that Baltimore keeps six receivers on the 53-man roster. White is battling with the likes of Breshad Perriman and rookies Jaleel Scott and Jordan Lasley for those final spots behind the top four wideouts. Not playing Thursday won't hurt White's standing for now, but he'll likely need to get back on the field in the near future to remain on solid ground with the team.

Ravens' Tim White: Making inroads toward roster spot
White "has the inside track for a roster spot" if he can stay healthy after making a positive impression on the coaching staff early in training camp, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic Baltimore reports.
The speedy second-year player out of Arizona State was a camp standout last season before he suffered a season-ending thumb injury in September. White, who can help in the return game in addition to his contributions as a receiver, is garnering praise once again this camp, routinely making plays and showing blazing speed. It's worth noting that the Ravens' top four receivers are effectively set, so White will need to remain a factor on special teams to secure a 53-man roster spot. Baltimore has also brought in undrafted free agent Janarion Grant, who is an excellent returner in his own right, but it seems that White has the early edge for that role.

White is competing with undrafted rookie Janarion Grant for a job on kick/punt returns, Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official website reports.
White caught on with Baltimore as an undrafted rookie last year and made enough of an impression to earn a stash on injured reserve after he injured his thumb during the first preseason game. He was healthy by January and is now back to compete for a roster spot with a team that signed three veteran wideouts -- Michael Crabtree, John Brown, Willie Snead -- and also used two draft picks -- Jaleel Scott, Jordan Lasley -- on the position. With Chris Moore also expected to make the cut, Baltimore could end up carrying seven wide receivers to make room for one that's essentially a return specialist. It's hard to see how 2015 first-round pick Breshad Perriman would fit into the picture.

Ravens' Tim White: Back to full health
White (thumb) has returned to full health, Jeff Zrebiec of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Coach John Harbaugh made the announcement during Thursday's end-of-season press conference, mentioning that White is back to 100 percent after suffering a thumb injury in preseason that sidelined him for his entire rookie year. Now that he's healthy, White should be ready for the start of organized team activities in the spring. However, as a former undrafted free agent that'll be battling other fringe receivers along with 2018 rookies, White will need to show that he's more than just healthy this spring in order to secure a roster spot.

This is crushing news for the undrafted rookie after he shined in his preseason debut with a dazzling 33-yard touchdown on his lone target. White had been making a strong impression in camp as well, which made his outstanding performance in the preseason game all the more encouraging. With season-ending surgery on tap, he'll likely hit injured reserve. White's absence this season thins the competition for the final receiver spots on the roster, helping the likes of Quincy Adeboyejo, Chris Moore and C.J. Board.
