Colts' Ethan Fernea: Signs new contract with Colts
The Colts signed Fernea to a reserve/future contract Friday.
Fernea will return to the Colts in 2023 after he spent the 2022 campaign as a member of the team's practice squad. The wide receiver appeared in one game this past season, logging 10 total snaps, only one which was on offense. Fernea will look to carve out a larger role for himself heading into next year.

Ethan Fernea: Back to practice squad
Fernea reverted to the Colts' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Fernea received the promotion with Keke Coutee currently in concussion protocols. The 24-year-old saw one snap on offense and nine of special teams against the Titans on Sunday, but he failed to tally any stats. If Coutee remains out Sunday against Washington, Fernea could earn another chance on the active roster.

Colts' Ethan Fernea: Added to active roster
Fernea was elevated from the Colts' practice squad to the active roster Saturday, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
Fernea spent all of training camp with the Colts and has been on the practice squad since. With Keke Coutee (concussion) ruled out, Fernea could have the chance to be active for his first NFL game. If so, he is likely to still be buried among the team's wide receiver corps.
