Titans' Jeffery Simmons: Season over as he goes on IR
Simmons (knee) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Simmons will not return this season, as the Titans have been eliminated from playoff contention. The two-time Pro Bowler finishes his fifth NFL season with 5.5 sacks among his 44 tackles (30 solo). Simmons also had one pass defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Titans' Jeffery Simmons: No-go for Week 16
Simmons (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup with Seattle, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Simmons will miss a third consecutive contest as he continues to nurse a knee injury. With the Titans eliminated from playoff contention, it's possible that the team could shut him down for the season. Quinton Bohanna could step into a starting role in Week 16 versus the Seahawks.

Titans' Jeffery Simmons: Remaining sidelined
Simmons (knee) did not practice Wednesday, Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com reports.
Simmons hasn't played since Week 13 against the Colts, and with his Week 16 prep starting with a DNP, he appears in danger of missing his third consecutive game. He'll work to get back on the field Thursday to increase his chances of suiting up Sunday against the Seahawks.

Titans' Jeffery Simmons: Won't play vs. Texans
Simmons (knee) is out for Sunday's game versus the Texans, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
Simmons will sit out his second straight game Sunday due to a knee injury he sustained in Week 13 versus the Colts. With Teair Tart (personal) also out and Denico Autry (knee) questionable, Tennessee will be worn quite thin on their defensive line Week 15.

Titans' Jeffery Simmons: DNP Wednesday
Simmons (knee) did not participate in Wednesday's practice.
Simmons sustained a knee injury in Week 13 against the Colts, and head coach Mike Vrabel noted after the game that he expects the defensive tackle to miss multiple games. Unless Simmons is able to log a limited practice session this week, he'll likely sit out of Sunday's game against the Texans.

Titans' Jeffery Simmons: Could miss multiple games
Titans head coach Mike Vrabel said Simmons (knee) will be out for next Monday's game against the Dolphins and will likely be out "a few weeks," Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
According to Turron Davenport of ESPN.com, Simmons was sent in for an MRI after he injured his right knee in this past Sunday's 31-28 overtime loss to the Colts. Though Vrabel didn't go into detail on the exact findings from the MRI, the star defensive lineman will be forced to miss at least one game due to the injury, and possibly another game or two beyond that. Simmons appeared in each of Tennessee's first 12 games of the season, tallying 44 tackles, 5.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
