Cowboys' Takkarist McKinley: Inks one-year deal with Dallas
McKinley agreed to a one-year deal with Dallas on Wednesday, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
McKinley was cut by the Rams in mid-October and signed a practice-squad deal with Dallas a month later. He didn't make any appearances for the Cowboys down the stretch, but he appears to have made enough of an impression in practices to get a chance to compete for a roster spot in 2023. The 2017 first-round pick recorded 16.5 sacks over his first three seasons in Atlanta, but he has just 3.5 across the past three campaigns.

Takkarist McKinley: Joins Cowboys' practice squad
McKinley was signed to the Cowboys' practice squad Wednesday.
After being cut by the Rams on Oct. 18, McKinley will get another shot this season, joining Dallas on Wednesday. The linebacker appeared in four games with Los Angeles earlier this season, recording one tackle while playing 16 total defensive snaps.

The Rams released McKinley on Tuesday.
Los Angeles signed McKinley to their active roster from the Titans' practice squad in September, but he'll now search elsewhere for snaps after he was released Tuesday. Across the Rams' last four contests, the 26-year-old linebacker totaled 16 defensive snaps and just one tackle in that stretch.

Rams' Takkarist McKinley: Catches on with Rams
The Rams signed McKinley off Tennessee's practice squad Wednesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
McKinley appeared in 11 games for the Browns last year before tearing his Achilles in December. After returning to full strength, he worked out for a few teams this offseason but could only garner a practice-squad deal from the Titans. However, the former first-round pick will now get an opportunity to carve out a reserve role with the defending champions.

Takkarist McKinley: Works out for Dallas
The Cowboys hosted McKinley (Achilles) for a tryout Saturday, David Moore of The Dallas Morning News reports.
McKinley's 2021 campaign with the Browns ended back in December due to a torn Achilles, so it's encouraging to see him already working out. Team owner/GM Jerry Jones said he "had a good visit with [McKinley]," and noted that the defensive end has "a chance to play this year." Jones said that a contract was discussed, but no agreement with McKinley has been reached.

Browns' Takkarist McKinley: Carted off field
McKinley was carted off the field in Monday's matchup with the Raiders after suffering an apparent ankle injury and is considered questionable to return.
McKinley's questionable tag is certianly optimistic, as he was seemingly unable to put any weight on his injured leg. Joe Jackson and Porter Gustin figure to see increased snaps if he is indeed unable to return.

McKinley has suffered a torn left Achilles and is out for the season, Josina Anderson of CBS Sports reports.
McKinley will no doubt be officially placed on IR in the near future and undergo surgery to address his injury. The timing of McKinley's Achilles tear is brutal, and there's no guarantee he'll be ready for either offseason activities or the start of the 2022 season. He wraps up the 2021 campaign with 18 tackles (10 solo), 2.5 sacks and one forced fumble across 11 appearances.
