Texans' Chase Winovich: Lands with Houston
The Texans and Winovich agreed to a one-year contract worth up to $2.75 million Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
After having spent three years with the Patriots and one season in Cleveland, Winovich is now set to pursue his fifth NFL campaign with the Texans following Monday's development. The 27-year-old defensive end tallied 20 tackles and one sack across eight games in 2022.

Cleveland designated Winovich (hamstring) to return from its injured reserve list Monday ahead of Sunday's game at Miami.

Winovich will now be forced to miss the next four weeks with a hamstring injury that's been bothering him since the preseason. With Myles Garrett (neck) and Jadeveon Clowney (ankle) both dealing with injuries of their own on a short week ahead of the Browns' matchup versus Pittsburgh on Thursday, Cleveland is thin at edge rusher and could be compelled to lean on rookies Alex Wright and Isaiah Thomas in Week 3.

Winovich has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Steelers due to a hamstring injury, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
Winovich was battling a hamstring injury for the majority of training camp, but he was able to suit up in Week 1 and 2. Browns' Chase Winovich: Returns to practice
Winovich (hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday, Anthony Poisal of the Browns' official site reports.
Winovich, who played in the first preseason game, apparently sustained the injury then and has been sidelined since. He's one of five defensive ends on the initial 53-man roster announced Tuesday. That means he could have a substantial role in the rotation if healthy, or it's a spot that can be jettisoned if a player at another position is deemed a better roster fit.

Browns' Chase Winovich: Battling hamstring
Winovich was on the sidelines during practices Sunday and Monday due to a left hamstring injury, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Winovich, acquired in the offseason from the Patriots, is one of a group of players riding exercise bikes on the sideline. He had a pair of tackles and played 23 snaps in the preseason opener last week against Jacksonville. When healthy, Winovich is slated to back up Jadeveon Clowney.
