Titans' David Fluellen: Lands on IR
Fluellen (knee) was placed on injured reserve Friday.
Fluellen has missed three straight practices due to this knee injury. It's unclear if this is a season-ending injury, but Fluellen will be sidelined for at least eight weeks as he recovers. His absence will mainly affect special teams, as Fluellen only played four offensive snaps in two games this year.

Fluellen (hamstring) won't play in Thursday's game versus the Jaguars, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
Fluellen will miss his second straight game due to this hamstring injury. He didn't practice all week, either, but the Thursday game will give him 10 days to recover before Week 4's matchup versus the Falcons. Even when Fluellen is healthy, his main usage will be on special teams since Derrick Henry is easing into a pass-catching role in addition to being the bell cow.

Fluellen had mysteriously been absent from practice since the team's first preseason game. Details of the procedure are sparse, yet it appears there's some optimism Fluellen will be ready for the team's Week 1 contest against the Browns. Prior to the injury, he was listed as the team's third-string back, though his absence will create more opportunity for the likes of Jeremy McNichols, Dalyn Dawkins and Akeem Hunt.

Fluellen is currently battling an ankle injury and has not practiced since exiting early from Friday's session. However, that didn't stop the team from listing him as the primary backup behind Derrick Henry (calf) and Dion Lewis. While that isn't likely to line him up for any major volume to begin the campaign, he has held off competition such as Jeremy McNichols and Alex Barnes to this point.

The 27-year-old's added muscle will give him the chance to also work as the team's fullback, which presents another avenue for him to stick on the roster. Fluellen carried the ball just four times for 16 yards in 2018.
