  • Ryan Succop: Cut by Buccaneers

The Buccaneers have released Succop, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.

This past season with Tampa Bay, Succop converted 31 of 38 field-goal attempts (including just two of seven from 50 yards or more) and made 24 of his 25 extra-point tries in 17 games. The 36-year-old -- who spent the last three years with the Buccaneers -- will now look to catch on elsewhere ahead of the coming season, with his fantasy prospects in 2023 hinging on his new team context.

  • Buccaneers' Ryan Succop: No kicks in wild-card loss

Succop did not attempt a field goal or extra point in the Buccaneers' 31-14 wild-card loss to the Cowboys on Monday night. He finished the regular season having made 31 of 38 field-goal attempts and 24 of 25 extra-point tries across 17 games.

The Buccaneers went for two points after both touchdowns Monday night thanks to Tampa Bay's sizable deficit, helping lead to Succop's first blanking on the stat sheet since the start of the regular season. The veteran kicker thus didn't get a chance to finish off one of his more inconsistent seasons in positive fashion, one that saw him post his second-lowest field-goal-attempt conversion rate (81.6 percent) since 2013. Succop's biggest problem range was 50-plus yards, as he made just two of seven attempts from that distance. The aging kicker will turn 37 a week into next season, and after facing a stiff test from the much younger Jose Borregales this past summer, it seems a virtual certainty Succop has to battle for his job again in training camp going into what would be the final year of his contract.

  • Buccaneers' Ryan Succop: Perfect showing in finale

Succop drilled a 41-yard field-attempt and both extra-point tries in the Buccaneers' 30-17 loss to the Falcons on Sunday.

Succop put together a much-needed perfect performance in the regular-season finale after a nightmarish Week 17 in which he missed three kicks overall versus the Panthers. The veteran kicker finished the regular campaign with an 81.6 percent success rate on field goals that qualifies as his lowest in a full season since 2011, but he could be busy in next Monday night's wild-card showdown against a Cowboys team that tied for fourth-most field-goal attempts per game allowed on the road during the season (2.4).

  • Buccaneers' Ryan Succop: Misses three times

Succop missed two of three field-goal attempts and one of two extra-point tries in Week 17's 30-24 win over the Panthers.

Succop converted from 22 yards but missed field goals from 53 and 26 yards, with the latter attempt blocked. With a missed PAT as well, it was a rough outing for the veteran, who sits just outside the top 10 league-wide in scoring at his position with one game remaining.

  • Buccaneers' Ryan Succop: Massive fantasy night Sunday

Succop connected on field-goal attempts of 38, 35, 42 and 40 yards while also drilling his only extra-point try in the Buccaneers' 19-16 overtime win over the Cardinals on Sunday night.

Succop's 13-point night was a welcome sight after a rough patch that saw him go 1-for-3 on field-goal tries in the prior two games. The four field-goal attempts tied for the second most on the campaign for Succop, and the perfect showing pushed his success rate in that category to 85.3 percent. Succop could be in for another busy afternoon in a key Week 17 divisional home matchup versus the Panthers.

  • Buccaneers' Ryan Succop: Missed field-goal attempt Sunday

Succop connected on a 21-yard field goal, misfired on a 50-yard attempt and made both his extra-point tries in the Buccaneers' 34-23 loss to the Bengals on Sunday.

Succop missed wide left from 50 yards out just before the eight-minute mark of the second quarter, failing to extend the Buccaneers' 10-0 lead at the time. The veteran was good on his three other kicks on the afternoon, but he now has missed field-goal attempts on back-to-back weeks for the first time this season and is only 2-for-6 on tries from 50-plus yards.

  • Buccaneers' Ryan Succop: Quiet day in lopsided loss

Succop was short on a 55-yard field-goal attempt and made his only PAT in the Buccaneers' 35-7 loss to the 49ers on Sunday.

The Buccaneers' first drive stalled on the 49ers' 37-yard line, and Succop was asked to try his longest field goal of the season, which he didn't come close to making. It was a relatively rare miss for the veteran, who still sports an 85.7 percent success rate in that category but who's now seen three of his four misfires on the campaign come from 50-plus yards. Tampa Bay's stagnant offense didn't afford him any chances to atone, but he could well be in store for more opportunities in Week 15's interconference matchup versus the Bengals in the friendly confines of Raymond James Stadium.

  • Buccaneers' Ryan Succop: Perfect on three kicks

Succop drilled a 21-yard field-goal attempt and both extra-point tries in the Buccaneers' 17-16 win over the Saints on Monday night.

Succop's first-quarter field goal generated all the Buccaneers' points on the night until there were only three minutes remaining, when Tom Brady threw the first of his two late scoring tosses that keyed the comeback victory. The veteran kicker then came through with the critical go-ahead extra point after the second touchdown to give Tampa Bay the one-point lead with three seconds remaining. Succop has two consecutive perfect performances heading into a Week 14 road battle against a 49ers squad that's allowed an NFL-low 1.3 field-goal attempts per contest.
