Sharpe had been poised to enter the season as the top backup to starting center Nic Claxton, but his hamstring injury will likely keep him out until at least the second half of November. Sharpe (wrist) is out for Sunday's game against the 76ers, Evan Barnes of Newsday reports.
Sharpe ends the regular season having missed three of Brooklyn's last six games, and while he had some ups and downs throughout the campaign, he ended up scoring in double digits in 15 different appearances despite playing mostly off the bench. The third-year big man averaged 6.8 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists across 15.1 minutes per game this season, with each of those figures representing career-high marks for him.

Sharpe was downgraded from questionable to doubtful in the hours leading up to Friday's tipoff, so it isn't very surprising to see him ruled out. Trendon Watford could see additional playing time against the Knicks, while Sharpe's final chance to play during the regular season will be Sunday against Philadelphia.

Sharpe played just six minutes off the bench, the fewest he has played when healthy since the second game of the regular season. Sharpe finished with eight points (4-11 FG), 17 rebounds, three assists and two blocks over 24 minutes off the bench during Tuesday's 104-91 loss to the Pelicans.
The 17 boards were a career high for Sharpe, topping the 15 he pulled down against the Knicks on Dec. 20. The third-year center has only 20 rebounds over the prior five games combined, and he hasn't recorded a double-double since Jan. 3. Tuesday was also the first time in March that Sharpe played 20-plus minutes in a game, and without a more consistent role in the Brooklyn rotation, he's tough to roster in almost any format.

Sharpe finished Sunday's 122-115 overtime loss to the Spurs with 15 points (7-9 FG, 1-3 FT), three rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal across 19 minutes.
This was Sharpe's largest workload in March, and he reached double figures for the first time since Feb. 29. Sharpe is a strong per-minute player in fantasy basketball, but he's averaged just 14.6 minutes through seven March appearances.

Sharpe amassed 12 points (5-7 FG, 2-2 3Pt), eight rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal over 20 minutes during Thursday's 124-97 victory over the Hawks.
Sharpe played fewer minutes than Nic Claxton and Dorian Finney-Smith, but he outplayed them both with an efficient outing -- he missed only two shots from the field while ending two boards shy of a double-double. Sharpe can get the job done on both ends of the court when given enough minutes, but his fantasy upside will remain limited if he continues to play off the bench.
