Warriors' Lester Quinones: Remaining with Golden State
Quinones signed a two-way contract with the Warriors on Friday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Quinones spent the 2022-23 campaign with Golden State on a two-way deal and averaged 2.5 points in 4.5 minutes per game over four appearances with the club. However, he had a solid Summer League showing, averaging 21.9 points, 4.4 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game, and he'll have the opportunity to compete for a full roster spot during training camp this year.

Quinones single-handedly produced nearly a third of the Warriors' points Saturday, amassing a game-high 32. Though Golden State will end Summer League without a win, Quinones was a bright spot for the team and looks poised for a second-year leap.

Quinones collected 29 points (8-23 FG, 2-10 3Pt, 11-15 FT), seven rebounds and five assists over 38 minutes of Wednesday's 98-96 overtime loss against the Mavericks in Summer League.
Though Quinones couldn't find his shooting stroke from deep Wednesday, he was incredibly effective at getting to the rim, attempting a game-high 15 free throws. He also provided a boost on the offensive glass, with three of his seven total rebounds coming on the offensive end. Despite being the offensive focal point for Golden State, Quinones only turned the ball over once while dishing out five assists. Quinones signed a two-way contract the Warriors as an undrafted player out of Arizona last offseason, and he went on to dominate in the G League, averaging 21.8 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists across 31 appearances. He was named the 2022-23 Kia NBA G League Most Improved Player and finished as the runner-up for G League Rookie of the Year. Quinones agreed Thursday with the Warriors on a two-way contract, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Quinones will take the two-way spot vacated by Anthony Lamb, who was converted to a standard NBA deal to fill the final opening on the Warriors' 15-man roster. An undrafted rookie out of Memphis, Quinones previously signed a 10-day contract with the team earlier in March but didn't make his NBA debut before the contract expired. He'll likely get the chance to debut with Golden State prior to the end of the season, but he's still expected to see the bulk of his playing time in the G League with the Santa Cruz Warriors, with whom he's spent the entire 2022-23 campaign. Over 26 appearances with Santa Cruz, the 6-foot-4, 208-pound guard has averaged 21.4 points (on 45.2 percent shooting from the field), 7.2 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 3.0 three-pointers and 0.7 steals in 32.4 minutes per contest.

The Warriors didn't re-sign Quinones after his 10-day contract expired Monday, C.J. Holmes of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Golden State will likely use the open spot on the 15-man roster to upgrade one of its two two-way players -- Anthony Lamb and Ty Jerome -- to a standard NBA deal. Quinones, meanwhile, is expected to remain in the organization and report back to the G League's Santa Cruz Warriors, with whom he had spent the entire 2022-23 season before being signed to the 10-day deal earlier this month.
