Vassell (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Mavericks, Jeff Garcia of KENS 5 San Antonio reports.
As expected, Vassell will miss a seventh straight game to end the season. He'll finished his third NBA campaign averaging career highs in points (18.5), assists (3.6) and minutes per game (31.1) across 38 appearances (32 starts).
Coach Gregg Popovich said it'll be "tough" for Vassell (knee) to return for San Antonio's final two regular-season games, Tom Osborn of the San Antonio Express-News reports.
Vassell hasn't been able to practice due to the knee issue, and Popovich acknowledged Thursday that at this point in the year, it doesn't make much sense to bring Vassell back and have him risk further injury. Malaki Branham will continue to step up in his absence.
