Magic's Bol Bol: Posts third straight double-double
Bol finished with 22 points (9-15 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 11 rebounds and two blocks over 34 minutes during Saturday's 114-113 loss to Indiana.
Bol got off to a solid start in the first half with eight points on 4-of-9 shooting to go along with four rebounds, but it was in the third quarter where he really came alive, hitting four of five shots for 12 points, including both three-point attempts. The big man finished second on the team in scoring with 22 points while also collecting a team-high 11 rebounds, three of which came on the offensive end. Bol has double-doubled in three consecutive games while also recording two or more blocks in four straight.... See More ... See Less
Magic's Bol Bol: Another impressive double-double
Bol supplied 15 points (6-10 FG, 3-3 FT), 10 rebounds and two blocks across 31 minutes in Friday's 108-107 win over the Bulls.
Bol has now delivered double-doubles in three of his last four games while also recording multiple blocks on three occasions over that stretch. The 23-year-old has been one of the pleasant early surprises of the 2022-23 campaign, and he may have played well enough at this point to establish himself as a starter even once the Magic return the likes of Paolo Banchero (ankle), Cole Anthony (oblique), Markelle Fultz (toe) and Jonathan Isaac (knee) from injury.... Magic's Bol Bol: Career-high 26 points in loss
Bol contributed 26 points (12-21 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 12 rebounds, one assist, three blocks and one steal over 35 minutes during Wednesday's 126-108 loss to the Timberwolves.
Bol set several personal records Wednesday, including points scored, field-goal attempts and shots taken. It was his fourth double-double of the season and second in the last three games. Since joining Orlando's starting lineup Oct. 28, he's averaged 14.0 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in 28.5 minutes over 10 contests.... See More ... See Less
Magic's Bol Bol: Strong performance despite loss
Bol recorded 14 points (5-13 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and two blocks across 31 minutes during Monday's 112-105 loss to the Hornets.
Bol is far from a finished product, but he's been putting up decent numbers for the Magic since moving to the starting unit. The big man has started nine games in a row and the results are encouraging, as he has scored in double digits seven times, has recorded at least 10 boards three times and also has three double-doubles. As if that wasn't enough, Bol has also recorded two or more blocks in four times during that stretch.... See More ... See Less
Magic's Bol Bol: Game-high 15 boards
Bol finished Friday's 114-97 win over the Suns with 13 points (5-8 FG, 3-3 3Pt), 15 rebounds and one assist in 31 minutes.
Bol played a big role in getting the Magic out to an early lead, knocking down both of his field-goal attempts in the first quarter, including a three, while also grabbing four rebounds. He finished the first half with 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting and only chipped in another three points in the second half, though he remained a force on the boards, collecting a game and season-high 15 rebounds. It was Bol's third double-double of the season, and he also knocked down a season-high three three-pointers.... See More ... See Less
Magic's Bol Bol: Career-high 23 points
Bol finished Saturday's 126-123 overtime loss to the Kings with 23 points (10-11 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds and two assists in 37 minutes.
Bol had arguably his best game of the season Saturday, recording a career-high 23 points while missing just one shot in the contest. The Magic big man went a perfect 5-of-5 from the field for 12 points in the first half and made all nine of his shots through the first four quarters before finally recording a miss in overtime. Bol also connected on two three-pointers in a game for the first time this season, with his only blemish on the evening coming in the form of five personal fouls.... See More ... See Less
Magic's Bol Bol: Produces double-double in loss
Bol finished Tuesday's 116-108 loss to Oklahoma City with 13 points (4-6 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 12 rebounds, one assist and four blocks over 31 minutes.
The fourth-year forward drew a third consecutive start with Cole Anthony (oblique) sidelined, and Bol posted his second consecutive double-double in the loss. The 22-year-old has been much better than expected early in the year, and he's averaged 13.3 points and 10.0 rebounds in 29.3 minutes per game since taking on a starting role. Anthony doesn't yet have a timetable to return, and Bol should continue to fill a role in the starting lineup in his absence. Even if Bol returns to the bench at some point, he's displayed solid fantasy value regardless of his starting status.... See More ... See Less
Magic's Bol Bol: Double-doubles in second start
Bol accumulated 16 points (7-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds and three blocks across 30 minutes during Sunday's 114-105 loss to Dallas.
Bol has seen more minutes than originally expected, but he has earned that starting role due to his productivity on both ends of the court. He's now scored at least 10 points in three of his last four appearances while pulling down double-digit rebounds in two of his last three. As if that wasn't enough, he's also recorded multiple blocks in all but one of his last six outings.... See More ... See Less
Magic's Bol Bol: Near double-double in victory
Bol contributed 11 points (4-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), seven rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal across 27 minutes during Friday's 113-93 win over the Hornets.
Bol nearly accomplished a double-double performance for the second straight game in the starting lineup for Orlando, posting a season high in minutes played. Bol notched his second-highest point total of the season and is now averaging 9.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.... See More ... See Less
Magic's Bol Bol: Joins starting five
Bol will start Friday's game against the Hornets.
Bol will likely slide into the small forward role alongside Franz Wagner, Terrence Ross, Paolo Banchero and Wendell Carter. Bol had recorded 20-plus minutes in each of his last two appearances and has performed well enough to earn a starting spot in place of Cole Anthony (oblique). In fantasy leagues where Bol remains on the waiver wire, he's worth scooping up for the duration of Anthony's absence.... See More ... See Less
Magic's Bol Bol: Goes for 19 points, four blocks
Bol amassed 19 points (8-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds and four blocks in 20 minutes during Monday's 115-102 loss to the Knicks.
Bol continues to impress with his solid play off the bench, emerging as a potential 12-team asset. It appears as though he is truly ahead of Mo Bamba in the rotation -- something that not many people saw coming heading into the season. His playing time does cap his upside but if you are in need of an untapped fantasy resource, he could be worth grabbing to see what happens next.... See More ... See Less
Magic's Bol Bol: Nine rebounds Tuesday
Bol compiled nine points (4-7 FG, 1-1 3Pt), nine rebounds, an assist, two steals and a block in 20 minutes in Tuesday's 109-105 victory over the Grizzlies.
Bol grabbed six boards in the first half and scored seven of his nine points in the second half. After scoring just one point in his first two preseason games, he's scored 16 points while going 7-for-11 from the field in 35 minutes over the last two contests. The 22-year-old signed a two-year deal with Orlando in the offseason and will need more performances like his last two games to earn a spot in the Magic's rotation for the regular season.... Magic's Bol Bol: Cleared for training camp
Bol (foot) said at a press conference Monday that he's fully healthy heading into the 2022-23 campaign, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Bol underwent foot surgery in January, ending his 2021-22 campaign, and was traded to the Magic in February. Now that he's healthy, he'll seek a role in Orlando's rotation with a strong training camp. Since being drafted 44th overall in 2019, Bol has appeared in 53 games and averaged 2.7 points and 1.2 rebounds in 6.2 minutes.... See More ... See Less
Magic's Bol Bol: Stays with Orlando
Bol (foot) and the Magic agreed to terms Friday on a two-year contract, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Orlando acquired Bol via trade in February, but he was subsequently ruled out for the rest of the 2021-22 season as he recovered from foot surgery. It's unclear if the 7-foot-2 big man will crack Orlando's rotation in 2022-23 given the team's frontcourt depth, but he could eventually get an opportunity if he stays healthy. Since being drafted 44th overall in 2019, Bol has appeared in 53 games and averaged 2.7 points and 1.2 rebounds in 6.2 minutes.... See More ... See Less
Magic's Bol Bol: Won't return this season
Bol (foot) will remain out for the remainder of the 2021-22 season, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Bol came over from Boston at the trade deadline, but there was never an expectation that he would return this season as he continues to work his way back from foot surgery. The 2019 second-round pick is an extremely unique player who still carries plenty of intrigue, but it remains to be seen whether he'll ever truly get a chance to grab hold of a consistent, nightly role in the NBA....
