Celtics' Sam Hauser: Scores 14 points off bench
Hauser registered 14 points (4-5 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five rebounds and one assist across 21 minutes during Sunday's 130-121 victory over the Wizards.
Hauser is not consistent enough to be an asset in fantasy, but he certainly makes his presence felt off the bench for a Celtics team that doesn't have a defined scoring threat in the second unit. Hauser has logged at least 20 minutes in four of his last six outings and is averaging 8.5 points while shooting 57.7 percent from three-point range in that span.... See More ... See Less

Celtics' Sam Hauser: Hits five threes off bench
Hauser finished Wednesday's 126-101 victory over the Hawks with 15 points (5-6 FG, 5-6 3Pt) and six rebounds over 27 minutes.
Hauser went a perfect 3-of-3 from behind the arc in the first half and did not miss a shot until the end of the third quarter. The Celtics forward hit five threes on the night, which led the game, while he also grabbed a season-high six rebounds as Boston cruised to its sixth road victory of the season. It was just Hauser's third time this season scoring in double figures, as he continues to see solid minutes off the bench for the Celtics.... See More ... See Less
Celtics' Sam Hauser: Sets new season high in scoring
Hauser had 24 points (9-15 FG, 6-12 3PT) and two rebounds in 32 minutes during Wednesday's 128-112 win over the Pistons.
Hauser has now scored in double figures in two of his last three games despite starting the season with eight straight single-digit performances. Wednesday also marked the first time this year he's been on the floor for 30-plus minutes, so he could be in the process of carving out a larger role for himself within the Boston rotation. It'll be tough to take Hauser off the floor if he continues to knock down threes at this rate.... See More ... See Less
Celtics' Sam Hauser: Drops 17 off bench
Hauser posted 17 points (6-9 FG, 5-8 3Pt), three rebounds and two assists in 21 minutes during Saturday's 133-118 win over New York.
Hauser turned in a new season high in scoring with the help of five triples, also a season best. The Virginia product had been inconsistent at best through his first eight games of the season entering Saturday, averaging 5.1 points and 1.8 rebounds in 12.1 minutes. However, he could certainly carve out a more prominent role in the rotation with more performances like this.... See More ... See Less

Hauser put together his best performance of the season Sunday, producing season highs in minutes, points, rebounds and assists. The 24-year-old is 10-for-18 on three-point attempts over the first six games and is averaging 5.5 points in 11.4 minutes. If he continues to have a hot hand, he's likely to earn a more secure role off the bench.... See More ... See Less
Celtics' Sam Hauser: Scores four points in loss
Hauser posted four points (1-4 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds and one assist over 11 minutes in Monday's 120-102 loss at Chicago.
The 6-foot-8 Hauser saw most of his minutes in garbage time, as the Bulls blew out the Celtics. The sharpshooter has appeared in all four for games for Boston, highlighting just how thin the C's are in the frontcourt. But his minutes are modest at only 8.5 per contest. Note that all four of Hauser's shot attempts were three-pointers. For the season, all of Hauser's 11 shot attempts have been behind the arc.... See More ... See Less
Celtics' Sam Hauser: Back to bench
Hauser will operate off the bench during Friday's preseason finale against the Raptors.
With a majority of Boston's regulars sidelined, Hauser entered the starting lineup during the team's last exhibition, but he'll revert back to his usual bench role for the preseason finale. The sharpshooter played primarily in the G League last year, but with Danilo Gallinari (knee) and Robert Williams (knee) out to begin the campaign, it's possible Hauser could see an increased role on the NBA squad in 2022-23.... Hauser enjoyed his second straight strong game after posting 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting in Boston's first preseason contest. He's made nine of 13 three-point attempts in the two games combined after shooting 43.2 percent from deep in limited time during his rookie campaign. Hauser isn't slated for major minutes this season, but the Celtics may be compelled to give him a bigger role if he continues to shoot this well.... See More ... See Less
Celtics' Sam Hauser: Nearly perfect from field
Hauser registered 14 points (5-6 FG, 4-5 3Pt), three rebounds, two assists and a steal across 19 minutes off the bench in Sunday's 134-93 win over the Hornets.
Hauser came off the bench and provided quite a scoring punch for Boston en route to a massive win in the preseason opener. These performances won't occur on a regular basis, but he should be a decent scoring threat off the bench once the season starts. He shot 43.2 percent from three-point range as a rookie in 2021-22.... See More ... See Less
Celtics' Sam Hauser: Re-joins Boston on three-year pact
Hauser officially signed a three-year contract with the Celtics on Saturday, Brian Robb of MassLive.com reports.
Hauser went unselected in the 2021 NBA Draft but signed a two-way contract with the Celtics in August of 2021 that was eventually converted to a standard deal in February of 2022. Hauser saw most of his playing time in the G League, where he averaged 16.9 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists while notably hitting 3.9 threes per game at 43.3 percent. Boston is presumably hoping the 24-year-old can step into some more NBA minutes in the coming seasons as a floor spacer.... See More ... See Less
Celtics' Sam Hauser: No longer on injury report
Hauser (shoulder) is not listed on the team's injury report ahead of Thursday's Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Warriors.
Hauser was unavailable for 12 straight games leading up to the NBA Finals, but it appears the shoulder issue he was dealing with won't keep him off the court if his number is called against the Warriors. It's unlikely he'll see the floor unless several members of Boston's rotation get hurt, but it sounds like he'll be available if needed.... See More ... See Less
