Top Jayson Tatum News

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Massive shooting woes Friday

Tatum logged 20 points (3-15 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 11-12 FT), six rebounds and five assists in 38 minutes during Friday's 106-94 loss to the Suns.

Even though it'd be a stretch to say the Celtics definitely lost Friday against the Suns due to Tatum's shooting woes, if the star forward had posted numbers that were in line with his season averages, the game would've probably ended with a different outcome. The fact that Tatum still found a way to reach the 20-point plateau despite shooting 20 percent from the field shows his wide range of resources on offense. Tatum will try to bounce back in an easier matchup Monday when the Celtics visit the Pistons.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Plays 47 minutes in OT victory

Tatum racked up 30 points (8-25 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 11-12 FT), 11 rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals over 47 minutes during Saturday's 125-121 overtime win over the Lakers.

Tatum barely left the floor in the victory, playing a whopping 47 minutes in the overtime thriller. While his production of late has been exemplary, his playing time is a little concerning. He has logged at least 40 minutes in five of his past six games, something that has to be putting strain on his body. Obviously, managers have to be thrilled with his numbers from a fantasy perspective, although slightly fewer minutes would be reassuring given his recent workload.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Leads with double-double

Tatum logged 35 points (12-26 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 9-9 FT), 14 rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal over 43 minutes during Thursday's 120-117 overtime loss to New York.

Tatum led all Celtics players in scoring while posting a team-high rebound total en route to a double-double performance. Tatum has scored at least 35 points with 10 rebounds in six games this year.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Leading scorer in loss

Tatum finished with 31 points (9-18 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 11-14 FT), 14 rebounds, seven assists and one steal over 40 minutes during Tuesday's 98-95 loss to the Heat.

Tatum led all scorers with 31 points, shooting 50 percent from the field and hitting 11 of 14 from the free-throw line. It marked the third time in four games he's managed to knock down double-digit free throws and the second time in his last three he's pulled in double-digit rebounds. The former Duke standout is now averaging 31.0 points, 8.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists per contest this season, each of which is a career high.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Strong showing in Monday's loss

Tatum amassed 26 points (9-19 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 4-6 FT), six rebounds, seven assists and one steal in 38 minutes during Monday's 113-98 loss to the Magic.

After missing Saturday's game against the Raptors due to a sore wrist, Tatum looked none the worse for wear in his return. The 24-year-old continues to play at an MVP level, and through 11 games in January, he's averaging 31.1 points, 9.4 boards, 5.5 assists and 3.4 threes.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Cleared from injury report

Tatum (wrist) is off the Celtics' injury report in advance of Monday's game in Orlando, Jay King of The Athletic reports.

After logging 48 minutes in the Celtics' overtime win over the Warriors on Thursday, Tatum was listed as out in advance of Boston's eventual 106-104 win over Toronto on Saturday due to left wrist soreness. His absence from the injury report one day later seems to suggest that he may have sat out Saturday's game more for maintenance-related reasons rather than out of concern about the injury, so Tatum should be ready to go Monday without any restrictions. Monday marks the front end of a back-to-back set for the Celtics, however, so it's possible that Tatum is a candidate to rest Tuesday, when Boston continues its tour of Florida with a game in Miami.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Game-high 34 points in win

Tatum posted 34 points (9-27 FG, 4-13 3Pt, 12-12 FT), 19 rebounds, six assists and three steals over 48 minutes during Thursday's 121-118 overtime win over Golden State.

Tatum couldn't find his stroke in the first half, knocking down just three of 11 field-goal attempts, including one of five attempts from three. However, he made up for it with eight rebounds, four assists and two steals while also going 6-of-6 from the free throw line as the Celtics entered the break down one. The small forward continued to lack efficiency from the second half through overtime, shooting just 37.5 percent from the field, though he still managed to lead all players in scoring on the night with 34 points. Tatum also grabbed a game-high 19 rebounds to notch his 17th double-double of the season. He is averaging 9.7 rebounds per game this month.

  • Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Won't play Saturday

Tatum has been ruled out for Saturday's matchup in Toronto due to left wrist soreness.

Tatum struggled to find any consistency from the field in Thursday's overtime win over Golden State, despite scoring 34 points, and he appears to have also picked up a wrist injury during the contest. The severity of the issue remains unclear, but Tatum's next chance to suit up will come Monday in Orlando. In the MVP candidate's absence, Grant Williams will presumably enter the starting lineup again, while Derrick White, Malcolm Brogdon and Sam Hauser figure to all be candidates for increased run off the bench.
