Nets' Cameron Johnson: Suffers hamstring injury
Johnson suffered a mild left hamstring injury during a workout last week and will miss the start of training camp, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.
Though even hamstring injuries termed as "mild" can require a week or more to properly heal, Johnson should have a good chance at being fully cleared before the Nets open their regular season Oct. 25 versus the Cavaliers. However, he'll likely be eased into camp while he recovers from the injury, putting his availability in jeopardy for the team's four preseason contests. After coming over from the Suns in February in the blockbuster deal that sent Kevin Durant to Phoenix, Johnson averaged 16.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.3 three-pointers, 2.1 assists and 1.4 steals in 30.7 minutes while shooting 46.8 percent from the field and 85.1 percent from the free-throw line over 25 appearances with Brooklyn. He was rewarded with a four-year, $94.5 million contract extension in the offseason.

Nets' Cameron Johnson: Scores 18 points in loss
Johnson finished Saturday's 121-101 loss to the 76ers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals with 18 points (7-11 FG, 4-6 3Pt), four rebounds and two assists in 27 minutes.
Johnson is enjoying his more prominent offensive role with the Nets compared to what he had in Phoenix. Despite the fact the Nets lost by 20 points, Johnson was efficient from the field and registered 15 or more points for the sixth time across his last seven appearances dating back to the regular season. He should continue playing a decent offensive role in Game 2 of the series Monday.
