Heat's Caleb Martin: Scores 10 points off bench
Martin chipped in 10 points (4-9 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal across 32 minutes during Monday's 94-89 loss to the Nuggets in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.
Martin was an offensive revelation during Miami's postseason run, posting 12.7 points on 52/42/82 shooting splits across 23 appearances. The undrafted forward out of Nevada signed a two-year deal with a player option for 2024-25 last offseason, so he figures to be a core piece of the Heat's rotation for at least one more campaign.

Heat's Caleb Martin: Coming off bench Sunday
Martin will come off the bench in Sunday's Game 2 matchup against the Nuggets, Jared Greenberg of Turner Sports reports.
Martin will work with the second unit for the Heat in Game 2 of the NBA Finals after starting the last three contests. He's been battling a non-COVID-19-related illness that kept him from practicing Saturday, but he still figures to get ample run off the bench. Martin scored three points and pulled in four boards to go along with a block and a steal in 25 minutes in Game 1.

Heat's Caleb Martin: Available Sunday
Martin (illness) is available for Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the Nuggets on Sunday, Tim Reynolds of Associated Press reports.
Martin was questionable for Sunday's matchup due to a non-COVID-19-related illness that forced him to miss practice Saturday, but he'll be able to suit up as the Heat attempt to even the series. He played 25 minutes in Game 1 on Thursday and logged three points, four rebounds, a steal and a block.

Heat's Caleb Martin: Officially questionable
Martin (illness) is listed as questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Nuggets in Game 2 of the NBA Finals, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports.
Martin wasn't able to practice Saturday due to a non-COVID-19-related illness, but the Heat will hold out hope that he shows enough improvement Sunday to gain clearance ahead of the 8 p.m. ET opening tip. After averaging 19.3 points per game over seven contests during the Heat's Eastern Conference Finals series against the Celtics, Martin was limited to three points on 1-for-7 shooting from the field Thursday in the Heat's 104-93 loss to Denver in Game 1.

Heat's Caleb Martin: Dealing with illness
Martin missed Saturday's practice due to a non-COVID illness.
After falling flat in Game 1 and mustering just three points over 25 minutes, Martin could not attend Saturday's practice and appears to be battling an illness. Though it's unclear if the aliment played a role in his Game 1 struggles, it's likely he won't be feeling 100 percent for Sunday's Game 2 if he suits up. We'll get more information regarding Martin's status when the Heat release their official injury report.

Heat's Caleb Martin: Goes missing in Game 1 loss
Martin contributed three points (1-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt), four rebounds, one block and one steal in 25 minutes during Thursday's 104-93 loss to the Nuggets in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
Martin was unable to maintain his momentum Thursday, scoring just three points on 1-of-7 shooting. Coming off a heroic 26-point performance in Game 7 against the Celtics, he came crashing back to earth against a much more well-rounded Nuggets outfit. Given what we know about Martin, he was always going to regress after putting together a historic shooting performance thus far in the playoffs. With that said, look for him to deliver an improved effort Monday.
