With most of the key members of the Philadelphia rotation sidelined for the front end of the back-to-back set, Edwards stepped into an elevated role in the rotation and led the 76ers in scoring while handling a 24.8 percent usage rate. The big performance could buy the two-way player some more time as a member of the 76ers' second unit, but expect Edwards to see his minutes take a big hit if any of Tyrese Maxey (hand), Paul George (ankle), Caleb Martin (groin) and Joel Embiid (foot) are back in action Wednesday versus the Knicks.

With his team leading by double-digits for the majority of the game and first-year phenom Jared McCain (knee) sidelined for the foreseeable future, Edwards was afforded the biggest opportunity of his young career thus far, having previously played nine minutes at the most. He outplayed veterans Eric Gordon and Reggie Jackson in the contest, dropping career highs in points, rebounds and assists along the way, but Paul George and Caleb Martin remained ahead of him on the depth chart. Edwards will look to build on his performance Monday against the Suns.

Edwards inked a two-way contract with the 76ers on Thursday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Edwards, out of Kentucky, is a decent three-point shooter and athlete with a 6-foot-10 wingspan, so he has some potential to develop into a 3-and-D guy. However, he'll spend most of the season with the 76ers' G League affiliate and can be safely ignored in most fantasy leagues.
