Carmelo Anthony, who has missed the past two Knicks games with a lacerated finger suffered Wednesday vs. the Bobcats, will start Sunday night vs. the Denver Nuggets

Anthony said he was feeling better and had given reporters indications he was leaning toward playing on Saturday, but coach Mike Woodson declined to give a status update in his pregame press conference, instead saying he is waiting on Melo to let him know. Woodson did say he was planning as if Anthony would not play, and in that situation, Kurt Thomas would start yet again at power forward along with Ronnie Brewer, Jason Kidd, Raymond Felton, and Tyson Chandler

Anthony is averaging 26 points and seven rebounds this season on 46 percent shooting for the first-place Knicks, who went 1-1 without Anthony this week. After drubbing the Miami Heat on national television, the Knicks lost Saturday to the Bulls 93-85, with Raymond Felton taking 30 shots.
