Giants' Landen Roupp: Continues strong start to season
Roupp (3-1) earned the win Thursday against the Reds, allowing no runs on one hit and two walks while striking out six across six innings.
Roupp is in just his second season as a full-time starter and is off to a strong start through four outings on the year. The 27-year-old has allowed one run or fewer in three of those four outings this season and holds a 2.38 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 24:7 K:BB in 22.2 innings. He finished last year with a 3.80 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP but has taken a step forward early in 2026, though it remains to be seen if the improved results are sustainable. The right-hander is scheduled to take the mound next against the Dodgers, which rank second in MLB with 105 runs scored.

Giants' Landen Roupp: Tosses quality start Friday
Roupp (2-1) earned the win Friday against the Orioles after tossing six innings of one-run ball, allowing five hits and two walks while striking out four.
The four strikeouts were a season low for Roupp, although his overall outing was a step in the right direction compared to his previous start, when he allowed seven runs in 4.2 frames against the Mets. Roupp has two quality starts this season, and he's earned the win every time he's pitched at least six frames. He has a 3.24 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 18:5 K;BB through his first 16.2 innings this season. Roupp is scheduled to make his next start on the road against Cincinnati next week.

Giants' Landen Roupp: Can't build on season-opening win
Roupp (1-1) took the loss against the Mets on Saturday, allowing seven runs (five earned) on seven hits and one walk while striking out seven batters over 4.2 innings.
The seven punchouts were useful for fantasy managers who deployed the hurler, but there were few (if any) other positives to take away from Roupp's performance. His outing was particularly disappointing given the strong six innings of shutout ball he tossed against San Diego in his season debut Monday. Roupp was similarly up-and-down last season -- he had six outings of zero runs allowed and five of four or more runs permitted over 22 regular-season starts -- so consistency seems to be his biggest issue. He'll try to get back on track in his next start, which is tentatively scheduled to come in Baltimore next week.

Giants' Landen Roupp: Tosses six scoreless frames
Roupp (1-0) earned the win over San Diego on Monday, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out seven batters over six scoreless innings.
Roupp had some issues with walks during spring training, but he was in complete control in his first outing of the regular season. The right-hander didn't yield any extra-base hits and threw 54 of 88 pitches for strikes while racking up 13 whiffs. Roupp didn't allow more than one runner to reach base in any of his six innings, and he ended his start by getting Manny Machado to ground into a double play. He's beginning the campaign at the back end of San Francisco's rotation, but Roupp can certainly firm up his standing among the team's starters with more outings like the one he had Monday.

Giants' Landen Roupp: Struggling with walks
Roupp gave up two earned runs on four hits with four strikeouts and three walks over three innings during Friday's split-squad game against the Reds.
The right-hander had a 3.80 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 102:45 K:BB across 22 starts last season and is expected to begin 2026 as a back-end starter for the Giants. Roupp's walk rate has been a bit of a concern, and that's remained the case during spring training with five free passes through nine innings. The 27-year-old has excelled in terms of run prevention with a 3.73 ERA through his first 45 big-league appearances, but Roupp's career 1.45 WHIP is much less attractive.

Giants' Landen Roupp: Throws first live BP of spring
Roupp (knee) completed his first live batting practice session of the spring Saturday, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
The right-hander did not make an appearance after Aug. 20 last year after taking a comebacker off his knee, but he appears to be all set for a normal camp without restrictions. While Roupp does not throw particularly hard and has a modest strikeout rate, he has achieved respectable results (3.80 ERA over 106.2 innings last season). He figures to be locked into a rotation spot for San Francisco to begin 2026.

Roupp (knee) tossed a 25-pitch bullpen session at Oracle Park on Friday, MLB.com reports.
Roupp isn't expected to pitch again this season after landing on the 15-day injured list Aug. 22 due to a left knee bone bruise, but his ability to get back on the mound just under a month after suffering the injury suggests that he'll be in line for a relatively normal offseason. The 27-year-old proved to be a serviceable member of the rotation when healthy in 2025, logging a 7-7 record with a 3.80 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 102:45 K:BB in 106.2 innings.

Roupp (knee) isn't expected to return from the 15-day injured list this season, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Roupp is working his way back from a deep bone bruise in his left knee, and the Giants aren't keen on rushing him along in the recovery process. Giants' Landen Roupp: Bone bruise confirmed
A second opinion on Roupp's left knee confirmed a deep bone bruise, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Roupp initially believed he had torn his ACL when he was struck by a comebacker last Wednesday, but his official diagnosis ended up being much less severe. He's expected to miss roughly four weeks, which could mean he's thrown his final pitch of 2025, but it leaves him in a much better position to begin the 2026 campaign at full health.

Giants' Landen Roupp: Carted off after being hit by liner
Roupp was removed from Wednesday's game against the Padres after he was struck in the right leg by a comebacker in the bottom of the third inning, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Roupp was hit in the right leg by a ball off the bat of Ramon Laureano, and his left knee also appeared to twist awkwardly as he fell to the ground. Trainers came out, and Roupp was eventually carted off the field. Prior to the injury, Roupp pitched 2.1 innings, striking out a pair of batters and allowing three earned runs on five hits and two walks. The Giants should have an update on the severity of Roupp's injury after the game.

Giants' Landen Roupp: Rough return from injury
Roupp allowed five runs on five hits and a walk while striking out five over three-plus innings in a no-decision versus the Rays on Friday.
Roupp missed three weeks due to right elbow inflammation. He wasn't great in his return from the injured list -- aside from a tidy 12-pitch first inning, he struggled to keep the Rays in check. The 26-year-old is now at a 3.45 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 100:43 K:BB over 104.1 innings across 21 starts this season. When factoring in his three-inning rehab start with Triple-A Sacramento, Roupp's workload is equal to his career-high 107.1 frames from 2022, which came across three levels of the minors. That makes fatigue a risk over the last quarter of this campaign. Roupp is projected to make his next start at San Diego.
