  • Rockies' Jordan Beck: Belts first big-league long ball

Beck went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and five total RBI in an 8-0 win against the Padres on Wednesday.

Beck came into Wednesday batting .191 with a 42.6 percent strikeout rate, but he was showing signs of breaking out with a four-game hitting streak while recording his first career RBI in his most recent contest. The 23-year-old may have announced his arrival with Wednesday's huge performance, during which he finished a triple short of a cycle. Beck doubled home two runs in the second inning, swatted a two-run homer in the sixth and added an RBI single in the eighth. The homer was his first as a major leaguer, though he's flashed plenty of power in the minors, racking up 33 long balls across 177 contests since being drafted in 2022.

  • Rockies' Jordan Beck: Nabs steal in win

Beck went 1-for-3 with a stolen base in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Rangers.

Beck has received steady playing time while Nolan Jones (back) is on the injured list. It hasn't translated to much success yet -- Beck is batting .179 with 17 strikeouts and no walks over his first 39 major-league plate appearances. His steal Sunday was the first of his career. The 23-year-old outfielder still has power upside, but he'll need to start making contact more consistently before that upside can turn into results.

  • Rockies' Jordan Beck: Taking seat Friday

Beck is not in the lineup for Friday's contest against the Rangers.

Beck was given nine straight starts in left field upon his promotion from Triple-A Albuquerque, but he's gone just 5-for-32 (.156) with a 14:0 K:BB in those games, so the Rockies will give him a day to regroup. Jake Cave is in left field Friday. With Nolan Jones (back) beginning to ramp up his activity level, Beck is running out of time to demonstrate he's ready for a regular spot in the majors.

  • Rockies' Jordan Beck: Starting regularly in left field

Beck went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts Wednesday against the Marlins.

Beck was added to the big-league roster Tuesday and has since made two starts in left field. He collected the first hit of his big-league career in his debut, and he should remain a regular in the lineup so long as Nolan Jones (back) is sidelined. Beck has the potential to be a power and speed producer, as he tallied five home runs and five stolen bases across 121 plate appearances with Triple-A Albuquerque prior to his promotion.

  • Rockies' Jordan Beck: Added to big-league roster

The Rockies selected Beck's contract from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday.

Beck, 23, has slashed .307/.405/.594 with five home runs and five stolen bases over 121 plate appearances this season with Albuquerque. He has swing-and-miss concerns, but Beck's raw power should certainly play well at Coors Field if he can make enough contact. Beck should receive regular playing time in the corner outfield spots.

  • Rockies' Jordan Beck: Likely to join big club

The Rockies are expected to promote Beck from Triple-A Albuquerque ahead of Tuesday's game in Miami, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

The 23-year-old is likely to join the big club as a replacement on the 26-man active roster for outfielder Nolan Jones, who is expected to be placed on the 10-day injured list after he experienced a recurrence of back stiffness in Sunday's loss to the Astros. Beck will presumably take on an everyday role in his first taste of the big leagues, as he's regarded as one of the Rockies' top prospects and won't be promoted just to serve as a depth player. He had gotten off to a hot start to the season at Albuquerque, slashing .307/.405/.594 over 121 plate appearances while slugging five home runs and going 5-for-5 on stolen-base attempts.
