  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Returns to minors

Myers was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Myers has a .644 OPS across 70 plate appearances in his first look in the big leagues this season, but he has just eight at-bats in September and will now head back to Triple-A. Jorge Soler (oblique) was activated from the injured list in a corresponding move.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Steals first big-league bag

Myers went 0-for-2 with a walk and a stolen base in Thursday's loss to the Brewers.

Recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday, the 27-year-old got the start in center field and batted eighth with Jazz Chisholm unavailable while dealing with what's thought to be a minor knee issue. Myers took advantage of the opportunity, swiping his first career base in the majors in the seventh inning as the Marlins tried to erase a 3-2 deficit. Chisholm could be back in the lineup as soon as Friday, but if he's not ready to return, Myers might get the nod again against right-hander Bryce Elder and Atlanta.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Recalled from Triple-A

The Marlins recalled Myers from Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday.

Myers showed a bit of promise during his last stint with the Marlins in July and will give them some much-needed outfield depth as Jorge Soler (oblique) heads to the 10-day injured list. Myers, 27, boasts a .316/.408/.500 batting line with 15 homers and 20 steals in 95 games this summer between Double-A and Triple-A.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Sent to Triple-A

Myers was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Myers operated as Miami's primary center fielder for most of July and had a 1.043 OPS in his first 10 games, but he'll head back to the minors since he has one hit and nine strikeouts in his past 23 at-bats. Avisail Garcia (back) was activated from the injured list in a corresponding move.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Sitting amid slump

Myers is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Rays.

Myers got off to a nice start upon his initial promotion to the Marlins in early July, but he's gone 0-for-16 with six strikeouts and zero walks over his last four games. Jon Berti, Jesus Sanchez and Bryan De La Cruz will start across the outfield Tuesday.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Three more hits Monday

Myers went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Monday's loss to the Cardinals.

All three hits were singles, but it was still another impressive performance from the 27-year-old rookie. Myers is batting a dazzling .444 (16-for-36) through his first 10 big-league games with six multi-hit efforts, and while he won't keep that pace up, he could be forcing the Marlins to consider ways to find room for him in the lineup even after Jazz Chisholm (oblique) is healthy.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Tallies three hits Sunday

Myers went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI in Sunday's loss to the Orioles.

Myers now has five multi-hit games through his first nine big-league contests. Overall, he's slashing a robust .406/.424/.563with a homer, eight RBI and six runs scored through 33 plate appearances. While his current pace isn't sustainable, the 27-year-old Myers did bat .335 with 13 home runs and 16 stolen bases between Double-A and Triple-A this season. If he continues to see regular playing time, the rookie outfielder could provide some fantasy value.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Launches first career homer

Myers went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Sunday's win over the Phillies.

In his sixth career big-league game, Myers slashed a knuckle curve from Aaron Nola down the right-field line and just over the fence for his first career homer. The 27-year-old has gone an impressive 9-for-22 (.409) since his promotion, and if Myers keeps producing after the All-Star break, he could well stick around even after Jazz Chisholm (oblique) gets healthy.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Gaining traction in everyday role

Myers will start in center field and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Phillies.

Myers will pick up his fifth consecutive start in center after opening up his big-league career with a 7-for-18 showing from the plate while scoring three times and driving in five runs. The 27-year-old rookie looks like he'll be given a look as an everyday player while Jazz Chisholm (oblique) is on the shelf.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Off to fast start

Myers went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Wednesday's 10-9 win over the Cardinals.

Making his first career MLB start, Myers manned center field for the full nine innings and made one of the biggest defensive plays of the night in the fourth inning when he flagged down a deep Nolan Arenado flyball at the fence to prevent a potential extra-base hit. The starting assignment came one day after Myers made his MLB debut off the bench and went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI. The 27-year-old converted pitcher posted a monstrous .956 OPS and stole 16 bases between Triple-A Jacksonville and Double-A Pensacola earlier this season and could have a path to steady playing time in center field with Jonathan Davis (knee) recently joining Jazz Chisholm (oblique) on the injured list, so Myers could be a name to keep an eye on in deeper leagues.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: Called up Monday

Myers was called up from Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

As expected, Myers will join the Marlins in Miami ahead of their four-game series with the Cardinals. The 27-year-old has produced an impressive .440 average with six homers, 21 RBI, 16 runs scored and two stolen bases over 75 at-bats in 20 games with Jacksonville since being promoted from Double-A Pensacola earlier in the season. Although he's not in the starting lineup Monday versus the Cardinals, he seems likely to make his major-league debut in the coming days. Myers will replace Jazz Chisholm (oblique) on the 26-man active roster after Chisholm was placed on the 10-day injured list.

  • Marlins' Dane Myers: On cusp of call-up

The Marlins plan to promote Myers from Triple-A Jacksonville ahead of Monday's game against the Cardinals, Craig Mish of the Miami Herald reports.

A 27-year-old who began his professional career in 2017 as a pitcher, Myers converted to the outfield in 2021 before the Marlins poached him from the Tigers in the minor-league Rule 5 draft this past winter. Myers has been one of the most productive hitters in the organization while splitting time between Jacksonville and Double-A Pensacola this season, compiling a .335/.423/.533 slash line while slugging 13 home runs and going 16-for-17 on stolen-base attempts. The righty-hitting Myers could serve as a short-side platoon player at first base or in the outfield while he's up with Miami.
