Reds' Stuart Fairchild: Swipes another bag Sunday
Fairchild went 1-for-2 with a double, a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's win over the Cubs.
Fairchild doubled his first time up and stole third before coming around to score. He now has steals in back-to-back games and has eight hits over his last 18 at-bats. For the year, the 27-year-old outfielder is slashing .250/.346/.398 with 13 extra-base hits, 14 RBI, 16 runs and a 13:35 BB:K over 129 plate appearances.

Reds' Stuart Fairchild: Notches steal in win
Fairchild went 0-for-3 with a stolen base in Saturday's 8-5 win over the Cubs.
Fairchild has picked up two steals over his last four games, though this was his first hitless effort in that span. The outfielder is up to five steals while slashing .245/.344/.487 through 47 contests as a part-time option in the outfield. He's seeing more consistent time in the outfield with Wil Myers (illness) on the injured list.

Reds' Stuart Fairchild: Three hits in big win
Fairchild went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 10-3 win over the Cardinals.
Getting the start in right field and batting sixth against southpaw Steven Matz, Fairchild produced the first three-hit game of his big-league career as part of the Reds' season-high 18 hits. The 27-year-old has provided Cincinnati with some valuable outfield depth this year, and his 114 plate appearances are already a career high, but he's slashing just .232/.330/.368 with one homer and four steals.

Reds' Stuart Fairchild: Drives in three
Fairchild went 2-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI in Wednesday's 11-6 loss to the Rockies.
Fairchild snapped an 0-for-10 stretch with a two-run double in the fifth inning, extending Cincinnati's lead to 5-0. He'd add a second double and a third RBI in the ninth, driving in Nick Senzel. The 27-year-old Fairchild has been starting regularly in center field while TJ Friedl (oblique) has been sidelined. He's slashing .217/.323/.361 with a home run, 13 runs scored, 12 RBI and three stolen bases through 101 plate appearances this season.

Reds' Stuart Fairchild: Filling in for Friedl again
Fairchild will start in center field and bat ninth in Monday's game in Colorado.
He had already picked up starts in center in each of the last three games while TJ Friedl (oblique) was viewed as day-to-day, but Fairchild should now have a longer leash as the Reds' primary option at the position after Friedl was placed on the injured list Monday. Fairchild has been much more effective against left-handed pitching (career 112 wRC+) than righties (94 wRC+) over parts of three seasons in the majors, so he could carry some batting-average risk if the Reds end up keeping him in a non-platoon role.

Reds' Stuart Fairchild: Filling in for injured Friedl
Fairchild will start in center field and bat fifth Sunday against the Marlins.
Fairchild will pick up a third consecutive start in place of TJ Friedl, who is nursing a mild oblique strain and could be forced to the injured list. The right-handed-hitting Fairchild typically serves as a short-side platoon option when Cincinnati is at full strength, but he held his own while drawing starts the previous two days against right-handers Eury Perez and Sandy Alcantara, going 3-for-8 with two runs, an RBI and a stolen base between those contests.

Reds' Stuart Fairchild: Sitting Friday
Fairchild isn't starting Friday against the White Sox.
After going hitless in each of his last two games, Fairchild will get a day off Friday. Henry Ramos will instead serve as the Reds' right fielder, moving Tyler Stephenson into the DH spot and allowing Luke Maile to start behind the dish while batting ninth.

Reds' Stuart Fairchild: Gets fourth consecutive start
Fairchild will start in left field and bat third in Monday's game against the Padres.
Fairchild will stick in the starting nine for a fourth straight game after going 3-for-9 with a pair of doubles during the Reds' series with the Athletics over the weekend, though it's worth noting that Cincinnati is facing a lefty starting pitcher (Blake Snell) for the third straight game. TJ Friedl, Jake Fraley and Nick Senzel are expected to remain the Reds' preferred starting outfield versus right-handed pitching more often than not.

Reds' Stuart Fairchild: Batting second Monday
Fairchild will start in left field and batting second Monday versus the Rays.
He's getting his sixth start of the season, with all six having come against left-handed pitching. While Fairchild's usage thus far suggests his playing time will likely be sparse, he's usually occupying a fruitful spot in the lineup on the occasions he does start. Fairchild has gone 2-for-5 with his lone home run of the season in his limited opportunities versus right-handed pitching, compared to a 3-for-17 mark with the platoon advantage in his favor.

Reds' Stuart Fairchild: Recalled from Triple-A
Fairchild was recalled Thursday from Triple-A Louisville.
Fairchild was optioned to the minors on March 20, but he wound up making the Opening Day roster in Cincinnati after all. The 27-year-old is currently positioned as a backup outfielder, though he could force his way into meaningful playing time with some timely hits in the early going.

Reds' Stuart Fairchild: Good chance to make roster
Fairchild has a good chance of making the Opening Day roster, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.
Fairchild was optioned to Triple-A on March 20, but that doesn't mean the Reds can't recall the outfielder before the season begins Thursday for the club. The outfielder appears likely to be on the roster after the Reds reassigned Henry Ramos to minor-league camp. Fairchild will be a bench option for Cincinnati without fantasy value to begin -- and likely end --the 2023 season.

Reds' Stuart Fairchild: Sent to Triple-A
The Reds optioned Fairchild to Triple-A Louisville on Monday.
Fairchild hit well in a 38-game sample for the Reds last season and also had a solid spring at the plate, but he won't be part of the Opening Day roster. The 27-year-old should factor into Cincinnati's outfield mix at some point this season.

Reds' Stuart Fairchild: Sits amid slump
Fairchild is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cubs.
Fairchild will take a seat Monday while he remains in the midst of a slump, as he's gone 1-for-16 over his last five games. T.J. Friedl and Jake Fraley look to be secure in everyday roles in the Cincinnati outfield, and despite his recent rough patch, Fairchild still looks to be ahead of Aristides Aquino for the remaining spot in the outfield in most games.

Reds' Stuart Fairchild: Riding pine Friday
Fairchild isn't starting Friday against the Cubs.
Fairchild has gone 0-for-9 with a strikeout over the last three games, and he'll retreat to the bench for the second time in the last three matchups. Mike Siani will start in center field and bat seventh.

Reds' Stuart Fairchild: Heads to bench Tuesday
Fairchild is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Pirates.
Fairchild seemingly took over the center field job recently from Jake Fraley, but he heads to the bench in this one. Mike Siani, who did not have an overly impressive season in the minors (.750 OPS) and is 0-for-6 with three strikeouts in the majors, will get the start in center field.

Reds' Stuart Fairchild: Poaching starts from Fraley
Fairchild will start in center field and bat fifth in Monday's game against the Pirates.
The righty-hitting Fairchild has largely served in a short-side platoon role since his Aug. 23 call-up from Triple-A Louisville, but he'll pick up his third consecutive start against a right-hander (Roansy Contreras) on Monday while the slumping Jake Fraley remains on the bench. Fairchild is slashing .388/.464/.694 with seven extra-base hits in his 22 games following his promotion to the big leagues.

Reds' Stuart Fairchild: Homers in win
Fairchild went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and a strikeout during Sunday's 3-0 win over the Cardinals.
Fairchild has drawn just five starts for the Reds since the start of September, but he gave the team some insurance runs Sunday with his two-run blast in the sixth inning. His home run was just his fifth of the season, and he hasn't been a very fantasy-relevant player in recent weeks, going just 5-for-13 with a home run, a double, two RBI and a run this month.
