Llovera (elbow) re-signed with the Giants on a minor-league deal Nov. 19.
One day after being non-tendered by the Giants, Llovera quickly re-upped with the organization on a new deal. Though he won't reclaim a spot on the Giants' 40-man roster, his minor-league pact will presumably allow him to compete for a spot in the big club's Opening Day bullpen during spring training. Giants' Mauricio Llovera: Clean inning as opener
Llovera struck out one in a perfect inning and did not factor in the decision in Thursday's loss to the Cardinals.
Llovera was tabbed as the opener for the contest, and he handled the assignment well. The 26-year-old has yet to work more than an inning in any of his four appearances this season, so he shouldn't be expected to be in the mix for wins if he opens more games later in the year.
