Garcia went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Thursday's 9-7 win over Detroit. Garcia put the Rangers ahead 5-4 in the third inning, blasting a solo shot off Kenta Maeda, his fifth of the year. Garcia had cooled off a bit after a torrid start this season, going 2-for-12 in four games prior to Thursday's contest. The 31-year-old outfielder is now slashing .311/.361/.568 with 18 RBI, 14 runs scored and four steals through his first 20 games on the campaign.... See More ... See Less

Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Sitting out Tuesday
Garcia is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game in Detroit. The Rangers and Tigers are playing a day game after a night game, offering an opportunity to give Garcia a breather. Evan Carter will slide over to right field and Wyatt Langford will handle left.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Fills stat sheet
Garcia went 2-for-3 with two RBI, two runs scored, two steals and two walks in Friday's win over Houston. Garcia has already belted four home runs this season but chose to flash his speed and on-base skills instead Friday. The 31-year-old slugger has just four multi-hit games so far this season despite an impressive .315/.377/.593 slash line. Garcia has two extra-base hits -- both doubles -- over his last seven appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Reaches four times Wednesday
Garcia went 3-for-3 with two doubles, a walk, a run, two RBI and a stolen base in a 6-2 victory against the Athletics on Wednesday. Garcia posted his first three-hit effort of the campaign, and among those knocks was a fourth-inning, two-run single that plated Texas' final tallies of the game. The All-Star outfielder has notched at least one hit in 10 of his 12 games so far this season, leading to a strong .292/.340/.604 slash line through 53 plate appearances. Garcia has added four homers, 13 RBI, nine runs and two thefts.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Crushes fourth homer
Garcia went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in Friday's win over Houston. Garcia clocked a three-run shot during Texas' five-run second inning. The slugger has already gone deep four times this season, racking up 10 RBI in the process. Friday's performance was Garcia's first multi-hit game since Opening Day, and he's slashing .276/.313/.724 through 32 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Power bat early
Garcia went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Monday's 9-3 win over Tampa Bay. Garcia's power bat has been on display early for the Rangers. Three of his four hits this season have cleared fences, and he leads Texas with six RBI through four games. One development that could impact Garcia going forward is the wrist injury suffered by Josh Jung, who provided support behind Garcia in the order. Jung was off to a fast start with a 1.415 OPS and four extra-base hits prior to getting hit by a pitch on the wrist in the ninth inning Monday. Pitchers weren't able to pitch around Garcia, knowing an equally fearsome hitter awaited.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Homers, steals base in win
Garcia went 1-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 11-2 win over the Cubs. Garcia went deep on Opening Day and added a second home run in as many games when he took Kyle Hendricks deep in the second inning Saturday. He also added a stolen base later in the contest, a good sign after he fell off to just nine steals last season.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Homers in debut
Garcia started at designated hitter and went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's spring game against Colorado. Garcia made his Cactus League debut and homered in his second at-bat. He'd been dealing with an oblique strain, which kept him out of the first 12 Cactus League games, but he's been getting plate appearances in during B games and working on his swing. Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told Kennedi Landry of MLB.com that he expects Garcia to play in the field soon.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Cleared for spring debut
Garcia (oblique) will serve as the Rangers' designated hitter and No. 3 batter in Wednesday's Cactus League game against the Rockies. Though Garcia didn't report to spring training with any limitations, the Rangers nonetheless chose to take a deliberate approach with him in the early stages of camp after he suffered a moderate left oblique strain during the World Series last October. Now that he'll be making his Cactus League debut Wednesday, Garcia is likely to begin accelerating his buildup program ahead of Opening Day. The 31-year-old should once again find himself in a regular spot in the heart of the Texas lineup after slugging at least 27 home runs and driving in at least 90 runs in each of his first three full seasons with the Rangers.... Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Inks two-year pact with Texas
Garcia signed a two-year, $14 million contract with the Rangers on Thursday to avoid arbitration, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports. The two sides had been scheduled for an arbitration hearing Thursday, but that will no longer be necessary. Heyman says Garcia can push his total earnings over the two years to $20.25 million if he reaches incentives. The outfielder will be under team control for one additional year in 2026, as well, before reaching free agency. Garcia slashed .245/.328/.508 with 39 home runs in 2023 and added an additional eight long balls during the postseason.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Removed from World Series roster
The Rangers removed Garcia (oblique) from their World Series roster Tuesday, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports. Garcia was diagnosed with a moderate strain of his left oblique Friday after making an early exit from Game 3 following a swing in the eighth inning. He will now miss the remainder of the Fall Classic, and Ezequiel Duran will replace Garcia on Texas' roster for the remainder of the series. Travis Jankowski will start Game 4 in right field Tuesday in Garcia's absence.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Has moderate oblique strain
Garcia was diagnosed Tuesday with a moderate strain of his left oblique and could miss the remainder of the World Series, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports. Garcia suffered the injury Monday in Game 3 while taking a swing in the top of the eighth inning and might soon be replaced on the Rangers' World Series roster. He went through a workout Tuesday afternoon and reported feeling good, but manager Bruce Bochy later noted that the diagnosis is "not great news" for his availability the rest of the way, per Kennedi Landry of MLB.com. Travis Jankowski will start in right field and bat ninth in Game 4 of the Fall Classic on Tuesday night against the Diamondbacks.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Available off bench in Game 4?
Garcia (side) could be available off the bench Tuesday in Game 4 of the World Series against the Diamondbacks, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports. Garcia is not in the Rangers' starting lineup for Game 4 after tweaking his left side late in Game 3 on Monday, but he went through a workout Tuesday and apparently came away encouraged. ESPN's Buster Olney adds that the ALCS MVP walked through the pregame clubhouse carrying a bat and said "all is good." Travis Jankowski will get the start in right field Tuesday, but Garcia could appear in the game at some point and may be able to return in full as early as Wednesday's Game 5 at Arizona.... Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Not in lineup for Game 4
Garcia (side) is not in the lineup for Game 4 of the World Series on Tuesday in Arizona. Garcia was sent for an MRI after appearing to tweak something in his left side during an eighth-inning at-bat Monday in Game 3. The results of the imaging scans have not yet been made available to the public, but Garcia could be limited over the remainder of the Fall Classic and might even be removed from the Rangers' active roster if the injury is at all severe. Travis Jankowski will start in right field and bat ninth Tuesday in Game 4.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Headed for further testing
Garcia will undergo an MRI after exiting the Rangers' 3-1 win over the Diamondbacks on Monday in Game 3 of the World Series with a left side injury, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports. Garcia's availability for the remainder of the series will be unknown until the team can evaluate his scans, but a side injury is usually cause for concern. If he's forced to miss time, look for Robbie Grossman and Travis Jankowski to see more opportunities in right field.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Suffers injury on swing
Garcia was removed from Game 3 of the World Series against Arizona on Monday due to an apparent side injury, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports. Garcia immediately grabbed at his side after flying out in the top of the eighth inning, and he was pulled from the contest for the bottom half of the frame. The severity of his injury is unknown at this time, and the team's initial update revealed that he left the matchup with left side tightness, per Deesha Thosar of Fox Sports. Travis Jankowski replaced Garcia in right field.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Crushes grand slam in win
Garcia went 1-for-5 with a grand slam in Sunday's 9-2 win over the Astros in Game 6 of the ALCS. Making his return following an ejection in Friday's outing, Garcia looked to be pressing at the plate after striking out in his first four at-bats. However, he managed to find his power stroke in the ninth, launching a grand slam off Ryne Stanek to quash any hopes of the Astros making a comeback in the bottom of the inning. Garcia is now riding a three-game homer streak as he propels his team forward in the ALCS. The slugging outfielder's five home runs in 11 games this postseason put him in a four-way tie for second-most in this year's playoffs. During the postseason, Garcia has slashed .277/.306/.617 with 13 runs and 15 RBI.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Keeps mashing Thursday
Garcia went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Mariners. The Rangers had just three hits in the game, with Garcia's 39th homer of the year being one of them. The outfielder is on quite the tear lately with four homers over his last five games. He's at a .245/.327/.513 slash line with 107 RBI, 107 runs scored, nine stolen bases and 29 doubles through 145 contests this season.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Blasts 37th long ball
Garcia went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Monday in a 5-1 win versus the Angels. The long ball was his second in as many games and his third in seven contests since returning from the injured list Sept. 18. Garcia has set career highs with 37 homers and 104 RBI on the campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Scores both runs in win
Garcia went 2-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and two runs scored in Saturday's 2-0 win over Seattle. The slugger has reached base safely in all five games since returning from the injured list, including taking a walk in all five.
