Red Sox's Brayan Bello: Stumbles in Texas
Bello (12-10) took the loss Wednesday, allowing eight runs on eight hits and four walks over three innings in a 15-5 loss against the Rangers. He struck out two.
It was a brutal outing for Bello, who was tagged for a season-high eight runs. The Rangers did most of their damage in the second inning, scoring six runs on six hits, including a pair of homers. Coming into the day, Bello hadn't allowed more than three runs in his last six starts. His ERA is now up to 4.11 with a 1.32 WHIP and 129:43 K:BB across 27 starts (151 innings) this year. For whatever reason, Bello has struggled in day games: he sports a 6.94 ERA in 10 day games compared to a 2.80 ERA in 17 night starts. Bello will likely get one more turn in the rotation this season -- he's currently scheduled for a home matchup with the Rays early next week.

Red Sox's Brayan Bello: Earns another quality start
Bello (12-9) took the loss Friday, allowing three runs on four hits and one walk over six innings against the Blue Jays. He struck out 10.
The only blemish to Bello's line came when Vladimir Guerrero blasted a two-out, three-run homer in the third. Otherwise, Bello was brilliant, striking out a career-high 10 batters and allowing only two additional baserunners on the evening. It marks his 15th quality start in 26 starts this season. The 24-year-old starter will take a solid 3.71 ERA into his next start, tentatively scheduled to take place next week in Texas.

Bello (12-8) earned the win Sunday against the Orioles after he allowed three runs on seven hits and no walks over five innings. He struck out four.
The right-hander held the Baltimore lineup in check outside of the second inning, when he surrendered all three runs and four hits. Bello now has a 4-1 record in his past five starts and has a 3.14 ERA and 21:8 K:BB in 28.2 frames during that stretch. The 24-year-old tentatively lines up to next take the mound this weekend in Toronto.

Bello (11-8) allowed three runs on five hits and two walks over six innings Monday, striking out seven and earning a win over the Rays.
Bello stumbled out of the gate, yielding three runs in the first frame, but settled in for a quality start and a win. He tied his season best by forcing 16 whiffs and his seven strikeouts were the most he's produced since Aug. 1. Over his last four outings, the 24-year-old righty has registered a 2.66 ERA, dropping his season mark to 3.61 through 137 frames. Bello's next outing is projected for a home matchup against the Orioles.

Bello (10-8) took the loss Tuesday, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks over 4.2 innings against the Astros. He struck out two.
After allowing just two runs over his previous two outings, Bello found himself down 2-0 early after surrendering back-to-back homers to Alex Bregman and Yordan Alvarez in the first inning. The 24-year-old Bello rebounded with three scoreless frames before the Astros added an unearned run in the fifth. Overall, the right-hander sports a 3.57 ERA with a 1.28 WHIP and 106:36 K:BB across 23 starts (131 innings) this season. Bello will look to get back in the win column in his next outing, currently scheduled for next week in Tampa Bay.

The Red Sox gave Bello plenty of cushion in a 17-1 drubbing of the Astros, though he was impressive in his own right, allowing just one run for the third time in his last four starts. Bello lowered his ERA to 3.56 and also has a 1.28 WHIP and 104:34 K:BB across 22 starts (126.1 innings) this season. Bello's teammates gifted him four runs in the top of the first inning before he threw a pitch and the young right-hander was on cruise control all night. Bello (8-7) took the loss Saturday as the Red Sox fell 6-2 to the Tigers, giving up four runs on nine hits over 4.2 innings. He struck out five without walking a batter.
The right-hander got taken deep by Kerry Carpenter in the second inning and Eric Haase in the fifth, continuing a recent trend that has seen Bello serve up 10 homers in seven starts since the beginning of July. Over that stretch, he's been saddled with a 5.19 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 29:8 K:BB through 40.1 innings. Bello could have a tough time keeping the ball in the park in his next outing as well, which is likely to come next weekend in Yankee Stadium.

Bello got a few extra days between starts after going on paternity leave and flying home to the Dominican Republic last weekend. The Red Sox reinstated Bello (personal) from the paternity list Tuesday, and he's scheduled to make his next turn through the rotation Wednesday against Atlanta at Fenway Park, MLB.com reports.
Bello flew home to the Dominican Republic over the weekend to witness the birth of his child. The right-hander rejoined the Red Sox after spending the maximum three days away from the team and will be able to stay on turn in the rotation.
