Marlins' Garrett Hampson: On bench for third straight
Hampson is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Hampson is on the bench for the third straight contest and appears to have been firmly displaced as the Marlins' primary center fielder in place of Jonathan Davis, at least for the time being. Both Davis and Hampson will likely see their playing time in the outfield take a more significant hit perhaps as soon as the upcoming weekend, when Jazz Chisholm (toe) is said to be targeting a return from the injured list. It's unclear how close Chisholm actually is to making that a reality, however.

Marlins' Garrett Hampson: Sitting Wednesday
Hampson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Hampson will cede center field to Jonathan Davis after starting each of the past five games while going 3-for-17 with a walk and a stolen base. Though three Marlins outfielders (Jazz Chisholm, Avisail Garcia and Jesus Sanchez) remain on the 10-day injured list, Hampson could begin to see his playing time take a hit while he continues to struggle at the plate.

Marlins' Garrett Hampson: Gets day off Thursday

Hampson had drawn three straight starts in center field in the absence of Jazz Chisholm (toe) but will grab a bit of rest during Thursday's matinee game in Miami. Xavier Edwards is playing center and batting ninth versus Washington.

Marlins' Garrett Hampson: Looks like new center fielder
Hampson will start in center field and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Nationals, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Hampson will pick up his third consecutive start in center field and looks as though he may become a regular at the position after Jazz Chisholm (toe) was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with an injury that is expected to keep him shelved for around 4-to-6 weeks. Though his high strikeout rate and paucity of power limit his upside in the batting-average and home-run categories, Hampson can be a useful source of stolen bases while he's getting steady playing time.

Marlins' Garrett Hampson: Batting leadoff Tuesday
Hampson is starting in center field and batting leadoff Tuesday against the Nationals.
He'll be making his second straight start in center field in place of Jazz Chisholm, who is recovering from a bout with turf toe. Hampson carries a .262/.294/.431 slash line with one home run and two steals through 69 plate appearances this season, but he may be worth a look in deeper fantasy formats if Chisholm requires a stint on the injured list.

Marlins' Garrett Hampson: Out of Sunday's lineup
Hampson is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.
The 28-year-old started seven of eight games at shortstop for the Marlins in late April, but Jon Berti is receiving his seventh straight start at the position Sunday. Hampson has still started four games in right field during the latter stretch, but Berti has taken over as the club's primary shortstop, as least until Joey Wendle (ribs) returns from the injured list.

Marlins' Garrett Hampson: Starting in right field
Hampson is starting in right field and batting ninth for the Marlins on Friday versus the Cubs, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
It looks like Hampson will be the right fielder against lefties while Avisail Garcia (back) is out. The 28-year-old utility player will see occasional action at shortstop as well, at least until Joey Wendle (intercostal) is back. Justin Steele will be starting for the Cubs on Friday.

Marlins' Garrett Hampson: Doubles twice in win
Hampson went 2-for-3 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's victory over the Cubs.
Hampson gave the Marlins a 3-2 lead with his second double of the contest, driving in Nick Fortes in the fourth inning. The 28-year-old Hampson now has four doubles in his last six games, boosting his slash line to .267/.313/.467 with five RBI and eight runs scored through 49 plate appearances. He's filled in nicely at shortstop with Joey Wendle (intercostal) sidelined, potentially earning a sustained role in Miami.
