Santander is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros. Santander will head to the bench Tuesday after starting the first 23 games of the season for Toronto. The veteran outfielder has yet to get on track at the plate with a .569 OPS in 102 plate appearances, and he's especially struggled over the past four contests (1-for-15). Vladimir Guerrero will get a turn at designated hitter while Will Wagner makes a start at first base.... See More ... See Less

Blue Jays' Anthony Santander: Supplies three-run homer in win
Santander went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer in Tuesday's win over Atlanta. Santander broke the game open with a three-run blast off Spencer Schwellenbach in the fifth inning to put Toronto up 6-1. It was Santander's second long ball of the season and his first at home as a member of the Blue Jays. Though his average currently sits at just .211, Santander now has a hit in six straight games, including homers in two of his last four, and has struck out once over his last 17 at-bats.... Blue Jays' Anthony Santander: Belts first homer of season
Santander went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Orioles. Santander had yet to record his first homer as a Blue Jay, but a return to Camden Yards proved to be what he needed to tick that achievement off his list. After grounding out in his first at-bat, Santander took a fastball from Tomoyuki Sugano deep to left-center field for a 409-foot solo home run. Santander has gone 8-for-39 with three runs scored, five walks, one home run, two RBI and 11 strikeouts over his last 10 games.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jays' Anthony Santander: Collects first hits as Jay
Santander went 2-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in Friday's win over the Orioles. A first-inning single off Charlie Morton gave Santander his first hit with Toronto, and he added another as part of a five-run fourth inning for the Blue Jays. The 30-year-old slugger hasn't produced an extra-base hit yet in 2025, but those should come soon enough -- he banged out at least 70 in each of the last two seasons for the O's, including a career-high 44 homers in 2024.... Blue Jays' Anthony Santander: Knocks first homer of camp
Santander went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the Pirates. The veteran slugger got hold of a Carson Fulmer fastball in the sixth inning and crushed it over the right-field fence. It was Santander's first long ball of the spring, and after racking up a career-high 44 homers and 102 RBI for the O's in 2024, the free-agent signing is being counted on to supply big power numbers this season from the heart of the Blue Jays' order.... Blue Jays' Anthony Santander: Heads back to camp after visa issue
Manager John Schneider said Wednesday that Santander has been away from Blue Jays camp while tending to visa issues, but Santander is expected to make his Grapefruit League debut Friday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports. Santander had reported to camp previously but then had to leave to sort some things out. He will go through a full workout Thursday before playing Friday against the Yankees. Santander signed a five-year, $92.5 million contract with Toronto in January.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jays' Anthony Santander: Agrees to deal with Toronto
The Blue Jays have agreed to a five-year, $92.5 million contract with Santander, Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 Houston reports. The deal includes an opt-out after 2027 season that can be voided if a 2030 club option is exercised. If the latter occurs, the total value of the contract would reach $110 million. It's a much-needed "win" for Toronto, as it has been in the running to sign numerous big free agents the last couple years but routinely has come up short. Santander is coming off a 2024 season which saw him slash .235/.308/.506 with 44 home runs, 91 runs and 102 RBI in 155 regular-season games with the Orioles. He will likely see plenty of starts both in left field and in the designated hitter slot.... See More ... See Less -
Anthony Santander: Rejects qualifying offer
Santander rejected the Orioles' $21.05 million qualifying offer Tuesday, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports. This move was expected, as this is the 30-year-old Santander's one chance to get a big long-term deal. The switch hitter slashed .235/.308/.506 with 44 home runs, 91 runs and 102 RBI in 155 games last season for Baltimore and he has 105 homers in 460 games over the past three seasons. If he signs elsewhere, Baltimore will receive a draft pick.... See More ... See Less -
Anthony Santander: Receives qualifying offer
The Orioles extended Santander a $21.05 million qualifying offer Monday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports. Rill relays that while Santander is unlikely to accept the offer, it allows the Orioles to receive draft compensation if the 30-year-old outfielder signs with another team. Santander appeared in 155 regular-season games for the Orioles in 2024 and finished with a slash line of .235/.308/.506 with 44 home runs and 102 RBI over 665 plate appearances.... See More ... Orioles' Anthony Santander: Not starting Sunday
Santander is absent from Sunday's lineup against Minnesota. Santander will rest for the regular-season finale after going 2-for-9 with one RBI over his last two outings. Unless he pinch hits Sunday, he'll end the 2024 regular season with a .235/.308/.506 slash line, 44 home runs and 102 RBI over 665 plate appearances. The Orioles will start Colton Cowser, Cedric Mullins and Ryan O'Hearn in the outfield.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Anthony Santander: Slugs homer in Tuesday's win
Santander went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Yankees. Santander had one of three homers in the game that helped lift the Orioles to a playoff-clinching win. The outfielder has gone just 9-for-47 (.191) over his last 13 games, but five of those hits have been homers, and he's added nine walks in that span. For the season, he's up to a .235/.309/.512 slash line with 44 homers, 100 RBI, 90 runs scored and two stolen bases across 151 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Anthony Santander: Homers again Friday
Santander went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Friday's 7-1 win over the Tigers. Santander hit the first of the Orioles' five homers in the contest, giving them a lead they'd never relinquish. He's hit four long balls over his last 10 games despite batting just .222 (8-for-36) in that span. He's enjoying a career year in the power department with 43 homers and a .515 slugging percentage over 148 games, and he's just one RBI shy of reaching 100 for the first time in his career.... Orioles' Anthony Santander: Goes deep in loss
Santander went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Wednesday's extra-inning loss to the Red Sox. Santander's solo shot in the eighth inning tied the game, though the Orioles went on to lose on a Tyler O'Neill walk-off homer in the 10th. Santander's long ball was his 41st of the campaign, third in the majors behind Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani. Santander also has 95 RBI on the campaign, tying the career-best mark he established last season.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Anthony Santander: Hits homer No. 40
Santander went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an RBI single and an RBI walk during Monday's 12-3 loss to the Red Sox. Santander drove in all three of the Orioles' runs Monday and clobbered a solo homer in the seventh inning off Josh Winckowski. The outfielder became the third player to reach the 40-homer milestone this season, joining Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani. Santander is slashing .241/.310/.516 across 596 plate appearances in 2024.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Anthony Santander: Smacks 39th homer
Santander went 2-for-4 with a double and a two-run homer in Saturday's loss to the Rockies. Santander crushed a two-out, two-run homer off Ryan Feltner in the top of the fourth to bring Baltimore back within one run of the Rockies and later added a double in the eighth, though he would be left stranded as the Orioles went on to suffer their third loss in their last four games. Santander has now hit safely in four straight contests, recording multiple knocks twice over that stretch. He hit just .198 in August, even following Saturday night's performance, though he still contributed eight homers, 15 RBI and 16 runs on the month. He sits at third in the majors in home runs with 39.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Anthony Santander: Crushes game-winning grand slam
Santander went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and an additional run scored in Friday's 7-5 win over the Astros. With the Orioles trailing 5-2 in the eighth inning, Santander came up with the bases loaded and cleared them with a 403-foot blast off Bryan Abreu. The 29-year-old outfielder has gone just 7-for-39 across his past 10 games but has still powered up with three homers in that span. On the season, he ranks third in the majors with 39 long balls to go along with a .238 batting average, 86 RBI and 77 runs scored across 531 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -

Santander has four homers over his last six games, but he also struck out multiple times for the fourth contest in a row Tuesday. Still, his power remains impressive, as he's up to 36 homers this season and hasn't gone more than four games without a long ball since the All-Star break. He's added a .243/.309/.538 slash line, 80 RBI, 72 runs scored and two stolen bases across 115 contests this season.... See More ... See Less -

Santander went 1-for-4 with a double, a walk, a stolen base and two runs scored in Sunday's 9-5 win over the Guardians. Santander hasn't done much with speed this year, but both of his stolen bases have come since the All-Star break. He's hitting .304 (21-for-69) over 17 contests in that span, which includes eight home runs and 17 RBI. The outfielder is at a .248/.313/.533 slash line for the year while adding 32 home runs, 75 RBI, 68 runs scored, 18 doubles and two triples over 108 games.... See More ... See Less
